This just isn’t true. It’s a survivorship bias. As someone who grew up in a wealthy family I don’t really get why people still think going through hardship is somehow a good thing 😂 in the UK I know it was a narrative invented by politicians in the 1950s and 60s to make working class people think that hard work and bad living conditions were somehow character building and that the people in government got to that level by hard work alone, which we know is a lie.
99% of people that were in poverty or famine just died or went nowhere in life. You only hear about the story of the 1% that got lucky. And this is how they keep you enslaved to this system, by appealing to human greed and hope; in that you can be like the 1% if you just “work hard”.
Realistically you should be looking to go through as little stress as possible and do as little work as possible, an easy life is the goal. I get that this mindset helps people cope but it’s just wrong and if you don’t do something to fight against inequality, you’ll end up living in a country with Victorian era levels of poverty.

Its sad to see our own government has never acted in the best interests of the people, but instead for their own benefit. Now even immigrants are put before English people.
@@tommygunTW1 the native English have access to free education and apprenticeships. Instead of working the system and climbing up, they allow vices to get in the way. Pub/ alcohol culture, substance use, class intimidation and seeing no value in education. It gets worse the more north you go
