I haven't tried it yet but Cathy Z uses a fan brush to make splatters. Hers always looks really good.

A toothbrush works well. Just get a fell for it on some scrap paper. I think I might have the snap pack in my stash. Now to find it. I'm liking this series too.

I love a lot of SB's generic products, but I was soooo disappointed in their liquid glue specifically the mini version so I hear ya on being upset.
