Rejected Ideas: Dark mode…People are tired of getting blinded everytime they open Mario maker 2 at 3 A.M. So we’ve added dark mode which makes the screen really dark so you can’t see anything. Just like night ghost houses or night water stages.

Rejected Update: Cutscenes. Players can add cutscenes to their levels to expand creativity or annoy others. They can also be as short or as long as you want.
Time to add a 24 hour long cutscene to one of my levels. And a bunch of short cutscenes that are essentially advertisements for shoes.
I add a cutscene when you reach the goal it shows someone throwing their controller out of their hands. Magically, you do the same.
If there was a time limit, this could actually be really cool

Rejected update, we are adding the ice flower! BUT it was slightly tweaked so that it's shots won't just freeze animals, but the timer, the ground, and even Mario when thrown. Totally how everyone wanted it.
Realistic: Playing as Toad or Toadette makes you play as a mushroom that stands there. It can also sabotage plant theme'd power-ups.
Also, Rejected Update: Endless levels! You can make levels never end, meaning no matter how long they play, the level simply won’t end! Neat :)
Now everyone will be remaking the minus world instead of 1-1!

You mean like some of the castles in SMB1? With the wrong paths that cause the level to seamlessly repeat? Best pick-a-path ever.
Rejected Update: You've seen the tank, you've seen the helicopter, now get ready for the rocket! The rocket sends Mario accelerating at high vertical speeds, transporting him to another planet. You never know where you'll go with it. Maybe you'll even go to Little Timmy Land!

And little Timmy land is just softlocks, skewers, blind jumps, enemys, sniper Thwomps, and all that other hot garbage.
It should be placeable in super worlds too and take you to a completely different one

Rejected update: we’re adding everybody’s favorite block from Minecraft, the spawner! The only twist is that you’re not able to select what goes inside! It could be a hidden block, bowser, hammer bro, flagpole and much more!

Rejected update: enemies can pickup powerups in levels, just imagine the fun of a goomba starting to chase you with a spikey helmet and the ability to jump or a spike that picks you up and throws Mario of a cliff. And to that you can spice up a boring old Bowser boss fight with some powerups like make him so big he can't fit on your screen, make him 10x faster or just give him a powerstar and make him literally impossible

Rejected Update: Everyone should clear all your 1-1 remake levels like 1-1 but sideways and 1-1 tilt 45 degrees to unlock story mode.
How about beating 1-1 but it's literally impossible
Rejected update: custom death audio. When Mario dies, you can make the player listen to long noises, annoying noises, or a whole musical making fun of Mario for his death.
You'd probably need a jump cut to show off the musical gag, but that would still be hysterical.
Idea: Omnidirectional Thwomps! These little pests spit out eight more Thwomps, and fly EVERYWHERE at once! You’ll never see it coming!
Rejected update: StarCraft: replaces everything to fit the theme of StarCraft. Goombas are now Zerglings, Coins are Minerals and Mario is Jim Raynor.
Keep this up Danny. You may not have the confidence to keep going, but we believe in you. Even if the quality does drop, most of us won't care. Cheers to the funniest series on YT 🥂

for the final rejected updates : the recap block, once you hit this mysterious block, everything around you will dissapear, the time will stop, and every features from the rejected update #1 to the final rejected update will be shown like a video, you cannot skip it so you will memorize every feature
also you can make it hidden or you can disguise it as a ? block
Rejected update: anti softlock block, its an alternate to the softlock block, it automatically makes an anti softlock after you hit it

Rejected Update: We now have a new rule about playing as Luigi in a ghost house level. Whenever you try to play as him, he will just run away from the level. You will then have to wait for the timer to run out before you can leave the level.
Rejected Update: the POW Bros. They throw POWS that kill everything onscreen, including you
Rejected idea: Pipes can now shoot out absolutely any thing! (ideas skewers, other pipes, and giant bowsers)😄
Rejected Update: We have seen many snake block inspired objects like the snake skewer or the snake thwomp, but now you can add that ability to anything! Want to make a goomba fly straight at you from below? Or make the goal pole fly back to the beginning of the level? Now you can do it!

Rejected update: Since everyone likes captain toad, add captain toadette, except she can’t jump or do anything either.
Rejected update:
One-Hit Gamble Mushroom (A white and red mushroom), touching this power-up transforms Mario into Hardcore Mario. During this trasformation Mario can't pick up any powerups, touch any checkpoints and Taking damage instantly kills you, However it also Makes Mario kill any enemy in one hit (including bosses).
You can even set a clear condicion to clear the goal as One-Hit mario to force the player to use it.
Rejected Update : We all kept having the same power ups for the entire game and it's boring so we added some new ones that come in a pack .
The square power up : it's a square with an outline and it turns you into air .
The speed power-up : The creator of the level can set mario's speed to *anything* ! Just imagine the fun they will have :D
The transformation power-up : You've seen mario transform into things with some powers but you've never seen him turn into *ANYTHING* . He could turn into a sound , a block , bowser , air . . . Just imagine all the possibilities :)
Rejected update: The Sandvich power up turns you into heavy from TF2! Use your minigun to blast through enemies like they're nothing!

I have some rejected Update ideas:
Kamikaze Bro: you've seen the blue Air Strike Bro, now get ready for the purple Kamikaze Bro! This purple hammer bro does three plane crashes like in Tank Stars, but just destroys the level for fun.
Plutonium Block: this block is green but it is a nuclear weapon and if you hit it it blows up everything on screen, including Mario!
Anti-Softlock Block: you've seen the Softlock Block, get ready for the Anti-Softlock Block! When you hit it you get star power and it creates a spiky floor holding cannons that shoot stars. Try escaping that now!
Including the flagpole!
Rejected update: The missile box - instead of the cannon box firing cannons, Mario has the ability to equip missiles with the new missile box, giving him the power to completely wipe out every enemy and block with a WW3 explosion. This item is exclusive on 3D World and works even better when it is near lava.
Rejected update: you've seen peach and now daisy! It's the exact same as peach but takes 10x longer since mario bearly cares about her.
Rejected Update: Super Hell Backrooms Setting, if you enable this setting you have one life and the courses are extremely hard, if you die you get sent to the backrooms and you cannot power off your switch, start over, exit the stage etc and after a while the game crashes and your entire switch is wiped out, your battery reaches zero and your switch blows up, and the universe blows up as well.
so basically your switch becomes a doomsday weapon?

Rejected Update: We’ve been getting complaints about some levels being too short, so we’ve decided to remove the flagpole! That way, the level never ends, and neither does the fun!
Rejected update: Add memes to levels. Now you can really set the mood with a troll face added to every pit. Or maybe a mocking Spongebob perhaps?

rage quit detectors that kick you from the entire game automatically. The sensitivity can be set by the creator from low senstoivity, like the player hovering over the exit button, to high sensitivity, like the player pausing, dying, or stopping.
0:24 I would call this the “Soft-block ”. (I did that because “Softlock” rhymes with “block”.)
Rejected update: Were adding back the mystery mushroom but now instead of giving you an amibo costume it'll give you a random effect like invincibility, flight or even killing you! Thiers no way to tell what will happen next!
And the level can be dependent on one specific power up so you have to restart if you don’t get it

3. The teleporting flagpole: once you reach the flag pole it teleports to a random area

Rejected Update: you’ll seem all the thomps but there is another thomp called Strong Thomp, once it hits the ground it will destroy the whole level
Rejected Update: A school bus you can drive. Every time you drive over an enemy, the enemy becomes a passenger. When you reach the goal, all the enemies will die, giving you points and 1-ups. This feature works for all the Mario game styles.
Rejected Update: Auto-Win! Just beat a level by breathing! Just turn it on in the settings, and every level you play spawns you on the flag pole, instantly letting you get some dopamine, and because we know you’ll never wanna go back, we made it so that it CAN’T be turned off!

As an April fools video you should make an episode with only good ideas, describing them as if they were ironic.
Rejected update: You can now control how fast time plays out in your level! If you want a super slow level where everything happens really slowly, you can, now players can really appreciate your amazing level design whilst moving the speed of a literal sloth. Alternatively, you can have everything happen extremely quickly so it's literally impossible to control. It's not fair, but it doesn't have to be!
Rejected update:You’ve seen the door, but how about The time machine! When place the time machine, you can choose to go farther in the level or back into the beginning and also works on autoscroll Just imagine how much fun it will be when you are playing multiplayer versus and go through the time machine and go back to the beginning

Eh, all it would really do is give builders more colors to play with. You can technically already use blocks to build pixel arts.
Rejected update 2: the quadruple cherry instead of adding a double cherry because it’s lame, why not add the quadruple cherry. 4 Marios, 4 times the fun!

You can only run forward, and break literally everything in front of you, including the flag pole!
Rejected Update: The Battery Bros. The Battery Bros. throw very precisely so it is super hard to avoid. There are 2 variations of The Battery Bros. The Green one charges your switch but be careful because the Green Battery Bro. charges your switch to 1000%. That is enough to make your switch blow up. The Red Battery Bro. makes your switch go to 0% and makes the battery always stay at 0%, even if the switch is charging.

It's too heavy and Mario accidentally dropped it on his toe, removing his ability to walk for the rest of the level.
Rejected update: random door. It flips a coint to see if it will kill you or teleport you to any location in the game (including the home screen)
Generators can now be set to any speed, so you can have an impassable steady stream of spinies flowing from a pipe.

Rejected update: teleportation. You can travel literally anywhere in the level
But the thing about this is that you don't know where you will end up
The teleportation can be added to enemies and gizmos too! If you want, you can make a skewer teleport anywhere in the level!

New Enemy: Poison Piranhas (Spits Poison on the floor, but once you step on it you will DIE!)

Have you ever wanted to hand over the controller to your friend just for them to find out that the Mario sprite generates epilepsy by changing every 1/10th of a second!

Rejected update: unclear pipes. They are clear pipes except they are not clear, I can’t even imagine what a game changer this would be!
Gigantic levels, now you can easily build a level with 300 paths. So much fun.
Rejected Update: New Clear Condition, Protect Peach! Peach will now be an item you can place at the start of the level, and you must carry her (or push her) to the flag/axe without letting her take any damage.

Rejected Update: Mega Buster. Fires lemons just like Mega Man! Includes charge shot as well! But, getting this will give every single enemy 28 hp!
If you lose the power-up, the enemies will still have 28 HP, which means you'll have to stomp them 28 times. This will make levels where you have to kill lots of enemies so fun!
Rejected update: We saw how much you loved the third major update so we’re doing it again it doesn’t change anything it just makes it so you have to download it again

2 Suggestions:
Instant kill blocks:
You can make anything kill Mario! You can make invisible blocks that kill Mario. Or ground that kills Mario, or checkpoints that kill Mario, or even air that kills Mario. You can even have the goal kill Mario
Better eraser:
It’s the same as the regular eraser but you can erase all parts of the UI, the pause screen, and even course elements. You can even erase the eraser!
(This cannot be undone)
Rejected Update: The Backrooms block! This block has no collisions, and passing all the way through will bring Mario to the backrooms! It's a level with no end, and you can't power off your switch, start over, or anything, so you're forced to keep playing!
what about battery tho
@@StopSignButGreen it also activates the specal infinite battery mode wich we only use to annoy you and if you try to remove it your switch will explod but will keep runing mario back rooms in the air

Rejected Update: In video 7 the Nintendo switch turns in dragonite, but players whait to the battery falls down to no play more. Solution: When you play's Mario Maker 2, battery have ∞% and don't fall never. Now the progress are saved, FOREVER
More additions to the troll selection of items:
-A set of pick a pipes where you can choose which one to let the player progress through the level. You can choose whether to make the remaining pipes instant kill or soft lock
-Fake flagpole which instantly kills you
-One way door traps
Rejected Update: Nuclear Mushrooms - When Mario picks it up, he gets radioactivity, which he can spread to other items, causing them to be destroyed. (including the flag pole and enemies, which would be an enemy variant like for example, nuclear goomba) I am not sure if this fits the criteria, but enjoyed the video regardless!
Rejected Update: Super Hard Setting, When you enable this setting you will have one life for every time you play, when you die it will delete the game and to play again you will have to buy it again

Unfair: on/off are magnets - when they are off, they repel literally everything away from it, including mario and the ground! When they are on they attract literally everything to it, squishing mario to death slowly but surely.
1: In the course maker if you go to the menu there's something that says Enemy Maker and there you can make your own Enemies

Rejected update: People’s Switches accidentally lose charge and run out of battery so they stop playing the level, so now there is a built in 24/7 charging system so there is nonstop fun!
rejected update: new power up, the spring power up from super mario galaxy 1 and 2. it does exactly what it did in the other games, but if you use it too long, it sends you flying in the air and kills you for being out of bounds.
This thomp is a big thomp but it can break thru anything, even the goal pole .
Rejected Update: Clock items slow down time or fast forward time or even stop time! But beware enemies can also use the clock and for the enemies 80% chance of stopping time, 70% for slowing down time, and 50% chance to fast forward time! The possibility are pretty much 3!

How did you do the snake skewers and spining skewers in rejected updates 8?
Rejected idea: The Softlock Shroom! This mechanical looking shroom will completely freeze Mario And no buttons will work! Not even Home or Power! The only way to escape the softlock is to beat the level so you will just have to hope your playing an automatic level!
Rejected Update: The new character, Mama Luigi, is added to the game. It is similar to Luigi, but the only difference is that he has the lines from the SMW TV Show episode “Mama Luigi.”

Rejected update: Sniper Lakitus! Did you think that Sniper Bros were too easy to dodge? Well, with a sniper lakitu, you can put any item or block in them to throw at Mario! You could have combinations such as Sniper Skewers!
Rejected update: you’ve seen thwomps go so many directions, but you’ve never combined them before! People can have so much fun with your diagonal snake thwomps! The possibilities are endless!
So,I’ve been having some trouble: now that the switch is unbreakable, I keep accidentally turning off my projector(yes I use a projector). Could you get rid of the on/off button?
I think the captain toad power up and the cherries are pretty cool
Rejected Update: Death Star, it behaves like the sun and moon, but it has a laser that destroys the level, like in the Star Wars franchise!

We know the boost block from 3D world, but don't you think it's a bit slow sometimes? Now introducing the Extreme Boost Block! Makes you so fast, moving a half block will make you speed off into the distance, setting you on fire and burning every block, pipe or enemy you come across! It even destroys the End Flag, so make sure you do not move!
