i noticed a few flaws with "picking up"/"holding items", just make 2 of them, one on the table (example table yes) and one on the arm/hand of the rig. Make the one of the hands of the rig invisible and make the one on the table visible. If the hand touches the item on the table, make that one invisible and the one on the hand/arm visible that way you get a better-holding animation without it jiggling over the place. I hope it helps!
