It was just the wording that the author shows for the story.

Your narration is superb, but WTH is it with they description? is there more that one person, like is Cameron possed or something,or does he have a sentient vestigial twin? So comfusing!

Oh no. No no no. This one is gonna freak me out. I have had a few random roommates previously... Nearly all went really way, but always had little "what if" moments, especially in the beginning!

"Cameron" sounds like it should refer to one male. Maybe he is Legion, though; at least in every instance, the plural pronoun is used.
I think it was just a creative choice made by the author.

I think it was a gender thing. Sorry if it was confusing - I try to make a point of adhering to the story the way the author wrote it.

Several folks have already mentioned that. Sorry it was confusing, but it’s the way the author wrote the story, so that’s the way I narrated it.

Maybe because initially it was intended as an I survived but was changed and then under edited, he is used a few times.

The people complaining about “they/them” pronouns… as much as that bugs you, that’s how much it bugs me when you whine about it. So I guess we all gotta deal with things we don’t like. 🤷♀️
