Just went there this past weekend & my boyfriend actually rode the rides without me convincing him😂 He said compared to Cedar's points, coasters these r doable. I enjoyed this ride the most. Loved the nostalgic feel of this park. If u have scaredy-cat types in your family, this is the perfect place for beginners. I also had the best funnel cake I ever tasted, which was being sold by the fallingstar ride.
Wow looks like the new owner has done a great job keeping up the place, while also adding new additions. Can't wait to ride the new triple loop coaster
The roller coaster you pointed out while on The skyride was one of the original coasters, used to be called the Galaxie. It was removed by the previous owners. When I was a kid, the mine cars didn't have the cages on the top of the cars either! I loved the haunted castle tour! The new owners have done an incredible job at adding new rides, and improving the park. But keeping the oldschool. nostalgic feel that the beach has always had. Thanks for visiting! Oh, and it's pronounced monti-sell-o.
Love seeing these types of old school theme parks coming back to life, also fun fact there's actually a king Kong vs Frankenstein movie that was made in 1933.
This makes me happy, haven’t been there in 15 years, was always wanting to return the. Thought I never would get to when it closed down, happy to see it back and growing I’m definitely going to go there soon.
Their spook house is neat, but the one you visited at the Enchanted Forest in Oregon was the best next to the one you visited at Knobles Park. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you Carpetbagger! Seems like you had a fun summer.
So cool to know you grew up a Hoosier. I've lived in Indiana all my life. I've been to Indiana Beach a few times but not for many years. Cool little place to visit. Thank you for taking us along with you. Safe Travels and have a great day. 😊
I visited Kiddieland in Melrose Park, IL many, many times in the '70's. I rode that particular ride. I'm glad it's still around. I recall that ride being called "The Octopus" back then, not the Polyp. FYI : Kiddieland's famous coaster "The Little Dipper" was also saved. It was acquired by Six Flags & rebuilt at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL.
20:32 is the part where I always laugh from his screams in past videos at Indiana Beach. If his daughter was there, she will be saying “Dad, what are you yelling like that? Stop!”. 🤣🤣
Hey Jacob, love your channel! Indiana Beach is our local park. So glad we didn’t lose it, it’s 99 years old this year. The All American Triple Loop is now open! Now if they would just save Ghost Town.. 👍
I always love seeing the skylifts, rollercoasters and dark rides. The taco bag looked lovely 😍 Shock rattle and roll was cool 😂 I liked seeing the carp get fed! 🐟 Thanks Jacob and best wishes ☀️
Dang! I was just there last Saturday and would've loved to run into you. I did a little amusement park road-trip and hit up Cedar Point, King's Island, Kentucky Kingdom, Beech Bend, Holiday World and finished up at Indiana Beach Boardwalk. Pretty charming park!
The landowners declined to extend the lease on the land in early 2009 and Kiddieland closed at the end of the 2009 season. In late June of 2010, it was announced that Kiddieland would be demolished. Kiddieland had over 30 rides and attractions and was Chicagoland's oldest family amusement park when it closed forever.
** An old sailors tip is if you cover 1 eye before you go from light to dark, the covered eye will adjust faster than if you didn't. That is truly why pirates wore the eye patch
Another great video! Spent lots of time at Indiana Beach as a kid. The Original Pronto Pup is in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. It has a Pronto Pup right on top of the building 😉
Indiana Beach is always so cool, with lots of things to do and the sack walking taco was ingenious as well as tasty looking!! Love that you always take the photo ops and stick your head in every frame!!! LoL!!! Always dig the dark rides. What an excellent spin kick you did on the football dude machine!! Very fun and fantastic once again!!! Attaboy, Carpetbagger,!!!
O man we was there over the 4th, I told my wife and kids it would be so cool to run into one of our TH-cam favorites, and here you are a couple weeks later. Well God bless, and hope to run into ya sometime somewhere
That's my park man. I've been there hundreds and hundreds of times and I've had some great times at Indiana Beach. One not so great time was when I was probably 7 I almost fell off of that sky ride sort of. My mom and sister were getting on and I was told to stay back with my grandparents, and as you know it doesn't stop so you can board, so just as they were sitting down and taking off I ran and hung onto the back. The guy saw me and my mom was screaming to stop the ride and when it finally stopped I was dangling above that last little part of fencing before it's a straight drop to the ground. He reversed it and we all got off but I never let go so I was proud of that but let's just say my mom wasn't too thrilled.
My husband said that one of his happy memories growing up was summers with his family at Grand Haven, MI and going to the Pronto Pup there. He didn't know there were others. He remembers the very nice manager was missing a couple fingers and assumed it was an unfortunate Pronto Pup accident.
This brings back some good memories. Went there a few times growing up in the early to mid 90s and had a blast every time. Used to love the dueling wooden coasters that went out over the water. Or maybe it wasnt dueling I cant remember but I think it was called the Wabash Cannonball or something like that. Do they still have the actual beach area where people swim and go out in the water? We also used to go to a water park called Thunder Island up in central IN somewhere but I cant remember what town it's near. That was a fun place to go growing up too.
Yes, I believe that 2009 was when Kiddieland closed. I used to take my grand-daughters there when they were little. A Home Depot stands where Kiddieland used to be.
I think I learn more about the roller coasters from you when you're on the ground. I also like the disdain you have for how the riders are "tortured" in various elements.
dippin dots rebranded not to long ago. I used to carry them at the theaters i operated. went to go visit my theater and the yeti was all over everything
The train is great. I like that it gets a peak of Frankenstein Castle. the Wizard of Oz pinball machine was cute, especially with the shoes. I wonder if the house would spin if you hit it. Back to reality. That beach is great.
You made comment of the new coaster that was not there last year underneath of the water park slides. It is new and reminiscent of the old Galaxi roller coaster that was there from 1971 till 2013
Jacob in the beginning I thought you was going to ride that 3 loop coaster but it wasn’t open. Love the older theme parks like this. Had one here many years ago called pontchartrain beach but it’s long gone. Great vid brother! 😎
got go to some of the fairs around Memphis like the Delta Fair Sept 2-11 and the Midsouth Fair in Southaven Sept 22-Oct. 2nd and Pink Palace Arts and Crafts Fair in Memphis Sept 23-25 to get Pronto Pup.
Watching this video on my tablet and messaging on my phone. Just wanted to let you know that Kate Mulgrew will be appearing in Bloomington, IN, where you stopped to check out her Captain Janeway statue not too long ago. This will be on October 23 this year.
Last time I new you could still get Pronto Pups and the Kansas State Fair. I also think you can still get Pronto Pups at a few of the local Kansas Festivals as well.
Good to see you cover Indiana Beach, that was very interesting. Also I was surprised to see you get on a roller coaster LOL 😲😲😲 Keep up the good work!!
The pronto pup location in Rockaway Beach Oregon is the birthplace of the pronto pup. There's also one in seaside oregon, but rockaway is the first of the first. The true original. At least as close as it gets lol.
Was at the Kiddy-land, in Melrose Park, Ill, area. But I left there 44 years ago! Don’t recall the frog - ride, tho. Must have been more recent than that.
Back when I was younger. The bumper boats used to be an up charge battle tank boat thing where you shot balls from the turret and soaked the other vehicle if you hit it
I like the old school smaller amusement park vibe. Very cool place- thanks for sharing!
Me too

Yes, Gene Staples has been taking much better care of it than Apex did.
@@lucasmcdonald6847 that’s awesome! 👍👍

Many entertainment venues, will be reopening. People are tired of being shut in and depressed due to the pandemic 😷 garbage going on everywhere.
Bread Box, yes… I agree
@@allensherrill850 well said!!! 😃👍👍
This place is so Awesome. Thank you Carpetbagger . Stay safe
Watching you play random arcade games are so fun! You should do a full arcade video!
I agree, love watching him play all those games! 😃
Monticello is pronounced Mont-i-sell-o here in Indiana just so you know.
Those poor carp acted like they were starving.... 🤣
I loved this place when I was 4! We stayed in a pirate cabin. You should come back to holiday world again!
Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate the nice review! More good things to come soon!

Same here

I met him in Seattle
Thank you for visiting and experiencing my home park
Will definitely have to go back and check it out! We visited there in 2017 and it was a bit underwhelming. Several rides were not going.
Great job with the new coaster and theme park by the new owners
Awesome! I think the triple loop roller coaster was named Magnum Force when it was at Flamingo Land UK. I rode it around 2001.

I remember in the 80s when they had the Toboggon Slide that went straight into the lake. People would be skimming across the water for quite a bit.
Always was too chicken to ride that. Now I regret it
