This is why I watch all of your sew-alongs, even for garments I'm not planning on making: there's always something -- ranging from "ooh, interesting!" to "what is this sorcery?" -- that I can use in my own projects. The dress looks great!
It's those small details such as pressing the shoulder straps before sewing & turning them that I feel really elevate the quality of your work. It's something that I'm also going to be doing going forward! 🧵

The dress turned out great! Stitching the straps in at the front and adjusting them in the back is an 'interesting' choice. Definitely a good example of why you should always read and think through the instructions before following them. Good luck with the current summer! I'm sitting here with a blanket over my lap. ❤

Just so happened to pick this pattern up the other day! So happy to find a sew along for it, thank you! Also happy you discuss the bust adjustment as I am a bit between sizes and was wondering if I should go up or down- snug vs looser bust fit.
I did actually cut it on the fold originally and then had to cut the piece apart!! I'll adjust the pattern to eliminate the centre back seam for the next one :)
I made this dress recently but realised I should have lined it as clipped princess seams are not pretty overlocked! Having watched this I may attempt french seams for my next one if my fabric isnt sheer!
Great tip about French seaming princess seams. One of the things that annoys me about generic commercial patterns is how rubbish they are at telling you how and when to finish raw edges. Also having a 5/8 allowance on a straight seam you immediately have to trim down, like those straps. what is the point

Beautiful dress ❤. I never understand why the big 4 wants you to cut two pieces on the center back and not cut on the fold when there is no zipper.
