This was 1991, and she could barely speak English. She then took up English classes, just in time for her introduction into the English speaking language market.

I am a huge Celine fan but i am also a huge Peabo fan and you should do a reaction to some of his music. Solid R and B artist from the 70s and 80s and into the 90s. The following year or so he capped this performance with Regina Belle and dit the Aladdin song. Great job there are many many artists from the past to explore and these voices are real not auto-tuned like so many today
30 years on in her career, few people would think "SOUL" when they hear Celine's name. When I first heard this when it played (new) on the radio, I knew of Peabo but thought, here's a gal who can give Whitney Houston a run for her money as far as technical skills but, with more impressive soul / feeling. Imagine my surprise to discover sometime later she was not only NOT African American but, French-speaking Canadian. I still consider this song one of (if not) her best. And, as another poster noted, this had to have been her first work that appeared on US radio. BTW: Peobo Bryson is the perfect partner - one of his best as well.
Even with this song I wouldn’t say Celine’s performance was that soulful. I think Mariah was more so that way in her prime especially when she did gospel songs. If I heard the song for the first time without knowing who Celine Dion I wouldn’t think she was Black
Beauty and the Beast is my most favorite Disney movie and it makes it that much better that my favorite person sings the title song! She also sings the credit song from the live action version of Beauty and the Beast titled “How Does a Moment Last Forever”. She’s incredible, a lot of people don’t realize how many songs she’s recorded for movie soundtracks. Thanks for Céline Tuesday! ✌🏻🤍🙏🏼
So this song was considered her breakout song in the US. It’s where audiences began to put together a name with a voice. This is my favorite version of this song. I guess I’m more old fashioned but I’m not a huge fan of the newer version from 2017 with Ariana Grande. Can you react to the song “When I fall In love.” It’s another duet with Celine Dion. :)
They definitely sound good together, I love the song and the Movie, but it has been a minute since I saw it and I’m not sure if I saw the whole movie, I am not too big on sitting and watching TV for too long either and I never have been but when it comes to music I just can’t live without it! Celine was meant to be singing the song from An American Tale:Fieval Goes West that year (1991), but Disney dropped her!! They gave the song, Dreams To Dream, to Linda Rondstadt, purely because she was more established. Disney then offered Celine Beauty and the Beast. She said no at first but they convinced her. This song and film is a Disney classic, Fieval didn't do that well LOL. Peabo sang with Regina Belle on A Whole New World from the Disney classic Aladdin. Love Peabo!!

Disney in the 90's are classics and timeless and have a beautiful soundtracks. I was in my high school when this movie came out.
