Of coure.however limits will be found. Hyd tappets on a lycoming. Remember 3000 RPM is not very high in engine speak. I think back to our Karting days.Briggs stock 5hp 3600. We went to 7000 & maybe 8hp, There was it nothing left. This being in the stock class. Every air pump has a limit. Airplanes are limited by the prop efficieney or lack of ! Of course then RPM is limited. So is your power.
Nobody wants to answer ? Best i can, Prop limits RPM. Tips cannot go supersonic. Go with a smaller blade ? Nope that does not work. Gear the engine. Not as easy as it seems. 29 to 3000 rpm at the prop is about as fast as possible. That is a major hurtle to overcome.
There is just no reason for that ,, first of all the F1 engines are unreliable (they hardly last few races // they are kind of disposable for the few 6-7 races as reliability for future is not the concern in F1 racing, ) second reason is as they said the engines these planes use are standardized which means they may put a restriction on the maximum horsepower (MOREOVER THERE ARE BETTER ENGINES THAN F1 FOR THE CONCERNED PURPOSE IF they wanted more power) The engines they use are designed for the purpose and just work fine so why change them !
Wankle i guess is a fine engine. They need 350 HP would be nice. And at 3000 rpm is reguired. There is your brick wall. All aluminum chevy can do the power with a gearbox but big complex & other issues. The ideal engine search has been going on since the wright flyer !
Would be great to see an animation or graphic of how the oil system works...

It's Grounds Keeper Willie!
Those engines rock! 😎
I Can't find previous video, where can I watch it?
i want more of this
this is the first time this guy is giving a presentation isent it.
Are the propellers standardized too?
This motor woud be look nice in my beetle :D
This engine would not fit in your bug lol.
Many people built in the 6cyl. of the 911. So why not?
Well I know who my next D and D character is going to be based on
I get the not modifications but you have to tune an engine always...just small tweaks like spark advance, rocker clearance, etc

can a F1 engine witch revs up to 12,000 rpm work in air race

Enough said, put this in a Miata immediately
Can it fit in my motorcycle?
I guess cooling will be an issue, since it is air cooled.
Sure is. Has been for years, always will be. Lycoming will or can never change. The market is to small and some other minor reasons.
Respect The Beard. hahaha
That beard
That's a mane.
This is TH-cam not tik Tok
