It’s actually plausible that this might have been caused by an unfortunate accident between Darkrai and the girl’s Abra, that they kept mentioning. Perhaps one day while they were playing, Abra and the girl were playing around with teleport and accidentally teleport to a place where Darkrai happened to be roaming, the Abra got startled and attacked Darkrai, which while it did nothing probably irritated the mythical, and caused it to retaliate then leave, unaware of the fact that the Abra had a trainer that unintentionally got hit as well. The girl is found, the parents try everything to wake her up, etc.
Dark Void in gen 4 and 5 had 80% accuracy. RNG mechanics really did this girl dirty.

@bruhmanofyear2 Let’s be honest, no one is gonna waste their TMs on an Abra…. Unless it’s one of those games where the TMs don’t break.
@bruhmanofyear2 Hidden Power isn't gonna make Abra faster than Darkrai. You'd need HP Fighting + Give it a Quick Claw/Choice Scarf and pray it crits(cus BW crits do double damage).
Edit: +252 SpAtk Modest + Crit + 70 power HP fighting quick claw Abra does indeed KO Darkrai as long as it's not 6 levels below Darkrai's level

BW2’s Ghost Girl was definitely the best instance of it throughout Pokémon. The other ghosts were just things that sort of happened, but BW2 gave the girl an actual story as to how she actually died.
Shame we won’t get anything similar to that anymore.
Actually, Sword and Shield's ghost girl also has a story like B2W2. A young girl asks you to deliver a love letter to her partner in Ballonlea. In the house, an old man recognizes the letter's author as a childhood friend who he recalls having had an illness. One of the girls at the house is facing a wall and tells you not to interrupt her conversation, indicating that the girl who ask you to deliver the letter is the man's childhood friend and died of illness. If you go back, there is a reaper cloth where the girl was standing. If you pick up the cloth, the girl, now invisible, thanks you for delivering the letter. Very touching story. I have seen a theory that she let go of the cloth and was carried to the afterlife by a Drifloon.
Also, while she has no real story laid out, Lumiose Ghost girl from XY definitely had the scariest appearance of them all. She's definitely the most effective in terms of being terrifying because she pops out of nowhere and we never learn her purpose or who she is searching for, which is why people have theories on her to this day. She's iconic because those questions are left unanswered, waiting to be discovered.
@@harinandansrikanth2217 I realized that SW/SH’s Ghost Girl also had a bit of a story to her after making the comment, but I will say her story isn’t as heartbreaking as BW2’s ghost girl.

Nope, it's quite sad. Especially if you think about it. The girl was probably.just playing around with her Abra, and happened to teleport right into Darkrai's lair. Darkrai thought it was a threat, and put the girl into a nightmare. So the girl actually died because of a small accident while playing with her pokemon...
In fairness, there's be a canonical difference between ghosts and ghost pokemon since gen one, where we do actually face a genuine ghost and it has almost nothing in common with ghost types save for being able to go invisible
According in an Episode of Journeys(Not sure if you could count this as Canon) Darkrai can’t actually control his powers and uses the aid of Crescellia to help him control it and it revealed that in the episode, they don’t hate or consider each other as enemies despite the many trainers and professors they were, so in short that episode revealed a lot of things about Darkrai he isn’t enemies with Crescellia and he can’t control his own powers which in turns he needs the help and aid of Crescellia to control them. Maybe that’s what happened here Darkrai is known to fly around every region like Ho-Oh and just can’t control his powers
What if Darkrai is trying to warn people of danger but the only way it knows how is to put them in to a nightmare inadvertently killing children when all it wants to do is help them
That's basically the plot of the Movie, and it does make sense it's an Abstract form of Self-Defense, but Unova almost had an Apocalypse Twice in 2 years, and like I'm pretty sure the Original Dragon splitting into 3 or the battle of the original Heroes was probably super devastating since they were a lot less restrained than N and Hilbert/Hildia were

There's 2 ghost girls in gen 4. One in the Old Chateau, and 1 on route 217 who presumably died from the cold.

@@derekstryder2281 Possibly. However, in game text says implies she's been waiting for a visitor for a while rather than luring them in like a Yuki-Onna Froslass is based on. She gives you an item though.

Well it does mention that Darkrai chases you from it's territory, them being children could have just wandered into it's territory and that would have been enough for Darkrai to put them into a deep nightmarish sleep
But it specifies "chases", not "attacks", meanaing he only scares them away. They already stated that Darkrai only attacks in self-defense so unless both children were Jesus reborn or had A legendary level pokemon, he had no reason to attack.
A actual explanation could be he was being controlled either by threats, mind control or by being captured.
I have no evidence for this, but my personal headcanon regarding the Lumiose ghost girl is that she might have been involved with Flare, or learned what they were trying to do.
It wouldn't explain the one from ORAS who gives the same line, but with the message from the board about someone going for help and telling the person the message is meant for to wait in the usual place, I think she was lead into an ambush that resulted in her death. The one she looks for is the one who sold her out.
(They're basically a genocidal secret police, so it wouldn't surprise me if they had to disappear a couple people.)

I actually think darkrai is innocent that him and other legendary Pokémon are like "Villain" Eternanus mewtwo,Giratina are not actually evil they just don't want to be enslaved and they feel threatened by all trainer for enslaving there kind.

Huh, within the video, MatPat makes seem like (to me) that he would make more Pokémon Ghost Girl Videos, but this currently are still the only one made so far, so did MatPat mention anything about why no more Pokémon Ghost Girl videos has been made or did I misunderstand something?

She had an abra. Maybe it teleported to New Moon Island, interacted with Darkrai, caused a conflict, and missed his Dark Void with it's 80% accuracy, and boom hit her by mistake. How can you blame him for gamefreak's rng accuracy checks?

If there are psychic type trainers with their own abilities &/or who are better attuded/more sensitive to psychic abilities, these kids might be their peers, just too weak in their own psychic powers to fight back against Darkrai's powers. Maybe their spirits keep Darkrai company or they hang out with ghost pokemon.
