musicfog.com John Fullbright is joined by Radoslav Lorkovic for a new unreleased song performed at the Music Fog ranch house. Filmed during the 2011 Cherokee Creek Music Festival in Texas.
Magic...a moment of musical magic. I am a musician who has been traveling quite a while...and I just have to say, this is what it's all about for me. A simply sound that holds up like this....thanks John and Radoslav!
Some call him a lyricist I call him a poet. Everything about this is perfect, including the perfect accordian. I can hear Willie Nelson knocking this out of the ballpark. Remembering lost love. Memory's a river, winds and it changes, cries when it's happy and smiles when it's blue. This is just me---me wanting you.💔
You're so very right. I saw him live a couple months ago, and he blew me away. His music takes you exactly wherever he intended you to go. Not many musicians have that gift.
It's difficult to heap yet more praise on this young man's shoulders but he's just so good....he has it all , writing , musicianship and a great feel for making it all sounding like he's lived , well, as long as this old codger. !!! ..and Radoslav is a fine heartfelt player who makes who compliments so well...love his playing. Jim
Great stuff--great voice, great phrasing (fantastic phrasing, actually), wonderful writing. This was below my radar, but not any more. I love the enjoyment of a new discovery, and can't wait for the opportunity to hear a live performance. There can be comparisons to talents of the past, but John Fullbright definitely has his own---and very fine--voice. Crazy good.
wow... just found out about John from a show on PBS that was a kind of sampler of Americana Music.... and after even a small snippet, I knew I needed to hear more. John is incredible, and has all the honesty and purity of a young Hank Williams, while managing to sound like himself. Just goes to show that when you have this level of musical integrity,a guitar, voice, and a bit of accordion is all that is needed. Fantastic !
I have to reply to your comment, as I had not yet seen it, but I think you are right. He is similar to the phenomenon called Hank Williams way back when. You are right. This is pure stuff. But I want you to know that is not just accordion, but that is Radoslav's accordion, and it doesn't get any better than this! He elevates the accordion to a whole other level. Check him out with Jimmy LaFave.
Oh, don't worry. I listen to and watch Rad with Jimmy LaFave, who right now are about my favorite musicians. And yes, I know that Rad elevates the accordion to levels previously unseen. In fact, I sent a message to LaFave and his tour asking if Rad was going to be with him in Wisconsin. They never responded, but I would only go out of my way to attend their concert if Rad was along. To have John Inmon along would be icing on the cake!
Victor Edwards Here's a little funny thing.. I actually had the pleasure of jamming w/ Rad at an Open Blues mic in the town I live in( Evanston, IL) a couple of years back. . He was great, of course- ( we did "Walkin'Blues"- which he ROCked) ) but I really had no idea who he was until seeing this vid . Pretty great memory !!
This gives me tremendous hope for the future of music. That someone this young is choosing to keep this style of music alive, and doing it so superbly. I listened for the first time, almost fearful that it would falter at some point... it never did.
Saw John on the BBC's ''Later.....with Jools Holland, 12/04/2013. He sang ''Satan and St. Paul''. Was blown away by the voice the man has, never mind his lyrics!! An icon in the make'n, a true gifted talent!!
We have his cat Siberian blue via my best friends, Brad, way too soon passing... His name is Jericho! John Brad loved all you guys at Woody Fest and the band camp. Best believe that was what he looked forward to every yr! Love and miss ya Brad.
This is not reflection, reflection is true This is just me, me wanting you. Sweet silver memories, I can't undo This is just me, me wanting you. And when I drink, I find myself longing Never to sure of what I'm to do Sometimes I think, your still out there waiting But this is just me, me wanting you. Memory's a river, it winds and it changes It cries when its happy, it smiles when it's blue I taste your kiss, I feel you around me But this is just me, me wanting you This is just me, me wanting you
He takes his time and John is right. All good musicians, even those who play rock, can do that. It should ventilate the music for ideas and feelings may stay in as sparrows in the trees. Why else would sing if you do send anything?
shit in hell! that box player is really good! (not to say John Fullbright isn't, we all know he's good)......... I just thought that deserved some notice
I could listen To John Fullbright sing this over and over and over again.
Heck, I have done exactly that for 10 years or so! And Radoslav makes it a surreal experience. What that man can do with a little red squeeze box!
I do😊, WHAT Perfection

If you get a chance, go see this young man live. You will be blown away.

God Almighty, this is good
Oh...My...God.
from the interview I heard the other day, he came up with the lyrics to this song, when he saw his own reflection, but it was a false reflection..
Anybody else hear a little John Prine?
Nope. Just John.
❤
shit in hell! that box player is really good! (not to say John Fullbright isn't, we all know he's good)......... I just thought that deserved some notice
John O'Shaughnessy It reminds me of the fella Hugh Laurie had behind his second album
Check that out if you like this
That's Rad Lorkovic. Good. Yes. That's an understatement.
"Box player", I love it
1 dislike? how did an ashlee simpson fan find this?
this guy should have the hottest girl
Why? I mean, if by the "hottest" girl you mean smartest, most thoughtful, most talented, etc etc, then yes.
He just hasn't met me yet. 😎
@@TheVeek192 don't forget sexy :)
It's not a sin to be sexually attractive ... yet
This is not reflection…
He kinda reminds me of Willie Nelson
