cool vid dude and you helped me save lots of money and not half to wait so long for my rack to be shipped in ... I can just build a lite weight rack myself
How did you drill the holes for the screws? I’ve heard PVC can crack if your not careful. Also, how did you line up the screw holes on the posts with the platform sides? Thank you for posting this video! I bought the PVC sheets, but this will be my first rack build, so want to be sure I’m doing it right. 😉
Im have the same problem, I know asda have a good size tub its around 30 quarts, flat and only £3, look out for them they are see through with a colors lid which comes in different colors but that doesn't make a difference for use guys since its used in a rack.
Hi! Great video! I was wondering where you got your pvc sheets from because all I can find are sheets for $40 each and if you got 7, 24" x 18" shelves for $80 I'd love to know where
Good simple DIY video! I have been looking for PVC sheeting for a long time and it's been too hard to find at a individual consumer level. You mentioned Home Depot . How do you spell the name of the product ? Azacort?
Will this be enough a six foot red tail boa? I have one python one baby corn snake but also the boa who is large. I mean I guess we can always modify but just wondered if you know anyone who has boas in this size rack. I am mainly wanting to do this for him (and the python too I guess) because he is in a 75 gal. and he is very cage stressed. I have to have him out a lot as he becomes aggressive when kept in cage. He is fine once he is out. and the python has issues with heating and she was in a cage system before I got her and the guy who gave her to me says heat stays perfect cuz ball pythons are problem shedders anyway but she is really bad. just want the best for my babies any feed back from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
You can make a bigger rack and do a 41qt tub for your boa and adult ball python. Now your boa will have to move to a much bigger enclosure though when he goes beyond 6 feet
Black Rabbit my boa is 6 feet I thought this looked small lol I have him plus another 4 foot python and a itty bitty baby corn snake lol. trying to make something that would make them all happy.
My boyfriend is trying to figure out how you ended up cutting the PVC board. I told him that you probably had it cut at the place where you bought it at. He still wanted me to ask you though.
Hey there i've a couple of questions, forgive my ignorance on these. Im thinking of building a rack to hold 8 adult ball python. Is it more economic to have them all connected and controlled by a thermostat as opposed to 8 cages with heat lamps and heat pads?
Why did it matter how the tub was facing all you needed it for was to screw the boards together it would have been the same spacing you made yourself sound like an add
So far this is the best video I've seen on how to make a good but not to expensive rack. Thanks for the upload! I most definitely will use this.
the pvc is actually really expensive if you look it up
@@dawnf76 I'm having a hard time finding any
I'm making a retic rack soon and your method seems better then the one I did the first time ... Thanks for the vid
Thank's for the video and easy instructions. It looks like I'm going to the hardwood store this weekend to build a rack.
My bf is going to LOVE this! I look forward to sharing this with him thank you for making such an AWESOME vid it's helpful and easy as hell!! :D
Thanks guys I have a feeling you just saved me a shitload of cash
I am so thankful for this video. You have been very helpful. You just got another subscriber.
Nice I built PVC cages with sliding glass doors. I need a rack now .....good job
Nice and simple. I can see this concept working for tubs of different sizes too, though it'll be good to calculate how much you'll need before hand
Best rack DIY I've seen bet a lot of ppl went out of business nice vid
cool vid dude and you helped me save lots of money and not half to wait so long for my rack to be shipped in ... I can just build a lite weight rack myself
Damn. Bossy, aren't ya?
Bit of a prick isn't he.
You guys make it look easy. I wish I had the tools to make this!
Made it look easy! Thanks guys
I use to work at AZEK all that PVC cost less than $5 to make. I made a ton of racks and cages with that stuff
How strong is what he is using. Someone said you have to use 1/2 inch or it will bend in the middle but he doesn't seem to have any issues
That's a good build. I like it. I can't get the boards cut correctly. I am always off by just a bit. Home Depot won't make the cuts for me.
Thanks for the video I found it very useful.
The back legs I would move top the back, and set the front back about 2".
That way your tubs won't slide back to far and help stabilize it.
Cheers mate, I'll check it out. £3 is actually cheaper than what i'm paying now :P
Hey could you please post those materials and dimensions, including heat tape length? That looks great and I would like to build one for myself.
How to you put the heat tape on..... thought you had to route out slots so the tape doesn't wear out and cause a fire
You can also use cd as spacers
Did you only use the 48x96 sheet & cut it for the whole thing?
Whereabouts do I put the heat tape? What kind do I use? How do I regulate temps? Solid rack, but I need the info on that other bit please.
Great vid, lot's of help!
Thanks
but can you please do a vid of how to connect heating
Nice i do same thing but route out heat tape
Shame cant get pvc sheets near me in store

Im have the same problem, I know asda have a good size tub its around 30 quarts, flat and only £3, look out for them they are see through with a colors lid which comes in different colors but that doesn't make a difference for use guys since its used in a rack.

How do you spell the board from Home depot?

Good simple DIY video! I have been looking for PVC sheeting for a long time and it's been too hard to find at a individual consumer level. You mentioned Home Depot . How do you spell the name of the product ? Azacort?
Azek board
what kind of wood was that .
How do you spell the name of the pvc
exactly how long do I cut the side pieces? and are the shelves already cut to size or did you have a 4x8 cut?
if you wanted a tighter fit, would you not use the cork board? do you think you would still be able to get the tubs out?
yes, but it will be really difficult
where did you get the pvc from?

That was great
How do you control humidity in a rack?
Hygrotherms control both temperature and humidity
Is this the size rack you would use for adult ball pythons?
No this is the size for boas but it can be used for ball pythons big ball pythons
+Usman Soban boas grow to 5 feet not the size for boas at all
Black Rabbit my boa is 6 feet I thought this looked small lol I have him plus another 4 foot python and a itty bitty baby corn snake lol. trying to make something that would make them all happy.

+Alicia Beauchamp yes i had Home Depot cut it free of charge

i have actually made the same thing, but with wood, cause i'm from italy and here you can't find pvc sheetingg :)
yeah yeah!
That was easy...
about how much did it cost to build this? I'm trying to build one for my balls, and I'm trying to find the most cost effective way, build or buy!?
$80
i did it with regular wood and i paid 13.50 + 13.50 for 3 bins. So i did a 3 bin rack for 27 bucks
Hehe build one for your balls...
Are you really saying shrew em all in? I've never heard someone pronounce screw shrew, are you Canadian or something?
Great to see that woodprix has new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
Why did it matter how the tub was facing all you needed it for was to screw the boards together it would have been the same spacing you made yourself sound like an add
azek board
