Love the Hobie product (I have an AI) but hate the marketing philosophy.. just like Apple! Put the turbo fins on all your kayaks because of course everyone wants more speed! 😝
Nice video! Thanks. I live in Central America and earlier this week ordered a Revolution 13 and also a 16 from a local dealer so family and friends can get on the water with me. What I can’t figure out is why Hobie doesn’t supply the turbo fins as standard?
A bit faster, but Iike them more because I think they give me more power to push through rough water than because of the extra speed. Atleast that is my personal perception.
I would like to see tandem Kayak comparison between Hobie Oasis vs. PA 17. I am thinking about these two for camping and photography gear ( I do not fish) but cannot visualize the space difference and stability difference.
Massive difference in those two boats. A 17 tandem PA weighs over 240 pounds rigged. Over 43 inches wide. A MIrage Oasis is just over half the weight at 127lb rigged. Ten inches narrower. The Oasis is Hobie's sleekest and fastest tandem boat , and the PA tandem is their supertanker. They are both quite stable boats, you won't have a problem with photography in either. I recommend stopping by a dealer or boat show. You'll instantly get your head around it. It is like comparing a Ford Ranger to an F250. With two people on board the Oasis, cargo space is relatively limited. The Oasis was never designed for fishing, so gear mounts, cubby holes, etc, are not a priority. The PA is designed for you to take everything and your kitchen sink along. A bazillion gear mounts, storage areas, etc. You should also look at the new Compass Duo. I think that would make a decent photography boat, lower cost than either the O or the PA.
@@uppertributaries 😂😂Of course it is. The Revo 16/Island is basically the Revo 11 & 13 on steroids. So your absolutely correct. I group all three in same group but anyone knows anything of yaks knows the island is off the change but if we get technical of paddle speed then we got to include the STEALTH ProFisha 575 etc. I think Revo’s are underrated and deserve a tom of credit.
I can't wait for the nitrous fins
For trolling like the standard turbo Fins non 180, but for areas I need to back up, obviously the 180 drive with turbo V2 fins

Hubby has the Turbo ones. I gave them a try. For me anyway, they took more effort to pedal. So I’m undecided: peddle more/faster or push harder.

How about a comparison between the MD180 and standard fins on a Compass? I keep hearing the MD180 will be faster and more efficient.
Absolutely! That video is already in the works, we'll have it up soon. Be sure to subscribe so you'll see when it goes up!
I can’t wait to see it!
would you use a turbo on the mr340 race instead of standard?
Is the a regular 180 fin VS 180 turbo fin? can you do a ST turbo fin VS 180 drive turbo fin?

The Hobie Revo 13 and turbo unbeatable!
The revo 16 is faster

@@NautiFish1 *The revo/adventure 16 are unbeatable.
Is that music crystal castles? Sounds just like it!
Would you say, same drives, that the Revo 13 is about 1mph faster than the outback?
I believe the revo is only 28.5" wide so it is probably faster than a 35" wide kayak.
Kick it into turbo!
So......why don't the turbo fins come standard on the Hobie?
so they can get more $
So faster more like a long skinny kayak is faster than a short fat one? More bang for your buck from each stroke.
