Desperate emotion. Yes so well put. That’s what we love about Phil. Can crush you with power than be so vulnerable in the ballad. Thanks so much for watching. And yes video of the head!! Please subscribe if you haven’t. Love the comment
@@Intersectionrecordsstl thanks alot hehe ... it´s like those early 80s late 70s euro movies you know ? playing in liverpool or so ( with a waterfront)... johnny running ... pale like snow ... side combed blond ... all denim clothed running his ass off due to exaustion blocked from all the speed/cocaine he took earlier wich ain t kill the need for morphine/heroine though ... wich the song is about ... at least in my mind
@@Intersectionrecordsstl phil also had another band thing going called grand slam until 85 .. there is stuff here on youtube ... nice songs ... i just remebered that ...
It's Whiskey In The Jar, not Whiskey In A Jar. Gary Moore came in in '73, not '72. It's Scott Gorham, not Scott Gorman. The first album with Robertson and Gorham called "Nightlife" came out in '74. Fighting came out next in '75. Jailbreak came out in '76 and later that year - Johnny The Fox. Before the Live Album which is called "Live And Dangerous" came out in '78, "Bad Reputation" was released in '77 with mostly Scott Gorham on guitar. You did pronounce Phil's last name the right way, so props for that! Most people get it wrong, even close friends like Huey Lewis! Cheers!
I was told by Huey Lewis himself he called him linnet not LYNOTT because thats the way the Irish pronounce his name . I have been to Ireland 12 times and I can assure you especially in Dublin thats the way they say his name.
@@JB-jz9ib And Scott says it like Phil as well. So, Phil and Scott both say it this way, so Huey and most people have it wrong lol th-cam.com/video/X5DrhaKCTn0/w-d-xo.html
If you are going to do a show like this do your research first and make sure you get your facts right: almost immediately Phil was born in West Bromwich not Birmingham and according to Philomena Lynott's book his father did not know she was pregnant when he was moved to London and the friend who taught him bass was the guy who kicked him out of Skid Row Brendan "Brush" Shields. The first big hit was Whiskey In The Jar not Whiskey In A Jar, Gary Moore was not kicked out of Skid Row as they had broken up by then. They did not do 3 albums in 1975. Seriously check your information do your research and try again.
Great review and tribute to a great artist. As you talked about his start in Ireland I thought about Bono and U2 being kids there at the time. Cowboy Song is one of my favorites - this version before it was named, called this new song Derby Blues at the time…this was recorded live in Kansas City. m.th-cam.com/video/pWwbjLyEqeA/w-d-xo.html

The main reason I bought a guitar in 1980....Lynott, Downy, Robertson, and Gorham.
That’s so cool Eric!! Yep they were great. That lineup in particular. What’s your favorite record of theirs?
