I'll have to paraphrase a bit, but there's a line in the Show of Hands song about a pub where nobody sings at all, please oh please never let this happen, let the peoples music live & thrive know, love & embrace our culture. Thanks guys & girls for the wonderful singing. Much love.
First heard this listening to the wonderful Waterson's - loved it. I'm a man who does not believe in the chase to kill a predator is the way forward to eradicate vermin, & to take delight is stomach turning. I love this song, I can hear the camaraderie amongst the voices as they recollect & make sounds to match their neighbours voice, - as we educate ourselves more, as a society & as individuals, hunting is barbaric, What a group of voices
Hunting isn't Barbaric not a bit. Blowing up people innocent ones at that ,sending the flower of our youth to war on the back of lies now that is barbaric .Blair &his cronies banned hunting & coursing eh? If he'd put as much effort into keeping Iraq &Afghanistan stable instead we wouldn't be where we are today?Watch the film Reg that speaks volumes. God Bless all who hunt & course still you are the lucky ones.Peace Please?
Seanna Madra. What's wrong with you? Of COURSE hunting is barbaric. And so is war. Don't try and compare them. They both show gross inhumanity... "God bless all who hunt and course"? Sheesh.......
Not barbaric. not a bit? ? Ah, c'mon...And "God Bless all who hunt & course"?????? Really? This has NOTHING to do with war - and I'm no Blairite by ANY means, and agree with your sentiments here on the futilty of war and Blair's awful war record. But at least Blair was right to advocate banning hunting and coursing. It's not a "sport", it's legitimised animal cruelty. Nothing more, nothing less.
I once had a dog called Gentry. He and his litter mates were named for the dogs in this song. I knew the words, but never heard it sung. Thank you.
