That innocence of Cecil is priceless...
No one was that innocent, even back then. She has a borderline learning disability.
I think Cecil isn‘t just naive, I think she is pure autistic. I feel the most sorry in this movie for Cecil and Annette. 😭😭 Sebastian and Kathryn deserve their treatment. They were extrem bullies and they aren‘t innocent. I‘m not lesbian but „I‘m Cecil and Annette all the way“. ❤️❤️

Maybe it's because I've made a certain amount of decisions that weren't positive plus screwing up enough to where i also feel bad for Sebastian and even Kathryn... Although more so for Sebastian because he evolved and matured and seemed to want to lead a more positive, meaningful, potentially even helpful life to others but his past sins caught up with him, but even with Kathryn... I understand her hate...even her enjoyment from the pain of others, but i wonder...if there was someone she could trully love and respect, whether sexually involved or platonic...would she also want to hurt that person, taking pleasure in it, or would she want to help make that person happy, healthy, etc...also after the end of the movie, i ask myself... Could she turn over a new leaf? Or would she just seak out/wait for other opportunities to succeed at the downfall of others....ty to anyone who read this! Kathryn wanted to destroy Cecille because her boyfriend thought Cecille was the better of the two. In the end, she wanted to destroy her own step-brother as well as Annette for the same reasons. Annette replaced Sebastian's perverse love for Kathryn with his genuine love for Annette. Kathryn had to destroy Annette for that and she would do that by publicly stating that Annette was no longer a virgin.
Kathryn would destroy her step-brother for allowing himself to be the giver and recipient of true love.
How dare he best her and the perverse love they had for each other by finding true love elsewhere? Just like Cecille, how dare he be the object of someone else's true love? Kathryn is the Black Widow. If anyone one-ups her, that person has had it. The three people (Cecille, Sebastian, Annette) who did just that would pay severely.
If Sebastian had not been killed, she would have the police investigate his altercation with Ronald. Once the police found out that altercation was over Sebastian having sexual activity with Cecille, Kathryn would invite the police to the Valmont household to review the video footage that she secretly recorded of Sebastian's sexual acts with Cecille. She would have the police comb for fingerprints of Sebastian's camera, the camera that was used by Sebastian to take racy photos of Cecille. Because Sebastian's bedroom would have to be declared a crime scene and Sebastian would have to be declared a suspect, he would be barred from entering the Valmont Household. I truly believe that Kathryn had planned to kick her step-brother kicked out and have him legally punished for his illegal lewd sexual acts. After all he was 17 and his acts with Cecille was the first time he has ever committed statutory rape. What he did to 18 year old Marcy Greenbaun is the same as what he did to 14 year old Cecille. However because of the age of Cecille, Sebastian's act is a violation of the law. It must be noted that Sebastian gave Cecille alcohol, which legally could be interpreted as "Contribution Of A Delinquency Of A Minor". Kathryn had him "by the gonads" and if he had not been killed, Kathryn would have made him pay. Sebastian thought that Kathryn would never squeal on him but she would do just that since he turned his back on her perverse love.
If Edward Valmont objected to Kathryn's power play against his son, Kathryn could blackmail him as well. She may be only a high school senior but she knows of her stepdad's illegal activities. I really feel that she and her step-dad had a decent relationship and would work together so that his son is not punished but rather is forced to instead leave the Valmont Household and its Empire for good. They both jointly will tell Sebastian he can live with his mother or with Annette's family.

3. Destroy Sebastian for being the object of Annette's true love. Kathryn knew Annette dating her step-brother made her into a better person as he was her first heterosexual true love. She was never trusting of other heterosexual boys until she fell in love with Sebastian.
Kathryn was a Black Widow. If someone offered another person better than what she either was or could offer, the person who did the offering would have to go.
Ronald must have thought, right before the time of altercation, that Sebastian was the mastermind behind everything. He must have thought Sebastian have leaked information to Mrs. Caldwell about the fact he had written love letters to Cecille. Ronald thought Sebastian did this so that Sebastian could blackmail Cecille into having sexual activity with Sebastian.
Only after Sebastian's death did Ronald realize that Sebastian was just a tool that Kathryn used to hurt Cecille.

Since I've never seen the movie (I plan to), I don't know any of the names except for Cecile and Sebastian. The stepsister is honestly disgusting in this scene. Cecil was sexually assaulted by this girls stepbrother and the girl was basically blaming Cecil for it happening. Fucking disgusting!!!!! Plus, she gives terrible advice. Yet makes it sound so innocent.

@JustLindaThings Katherine is mostly hurt. She keeps getting passed over for girls like Cecil. This movie was a head of its time. Katherine was tried of getting shamed for being like the men in private. Her boyfriend dumped her to presue Cecil so like most girls of that time (the 90s early 2000s) she took it out on Cecil. I actually felt bad for her the whole movie. The only person who knew Katherine and let her be herself was Sebastian and he eventually did what her boyfriend did to her too.
