just wanted to add. all dogs will be that way about their nails till they get used to the noise and the vibrations. My dog I have now is still a little iffy about the grinder by still gets his done. You did nothing wrong. you are right about stopping if they don't like it.
All you have to is to start early. I started my Doberman puppy at 3 months old. Now I bath him, clip his nails, clean his ears, brush his teeth and wipe his feet after walk all by myself with minimal effort 😂
I wonder if it's a strange sensation on the feet to use the Dremel on their toenails. It must be strange too, when the paw pads are shaved. I don't think it hurts but it may be something they aren't accustomed to. Just a thought.
If working on the dog’s nails with a buffer caused so much trouble but using the standard clippers worked better, why go back to the buffer? Spending nearly ten minutes forcing the buffer on the dog would cause so much trauma, she probably will be even worse for the next groomer.

Can start at a low speed rather than high, because of the noise too
Some dogs don't mind the Dremel but they do mind the nail clippers.
