Hi Renataxa, Don't worry I didn't think that you were. It's hard to get across what we mean in comments. I struggle to express what I think without coming across a bit short and direct. I do so hate comments and texting :) x
I'm not big on blush because I have naturally "blushed" - red flush until my base goes on, I have to say though that this blush looked so beautiful. Vintage Marilyn maybe but very wearable and natural today. You look beautiful!!!!
ohhhh god i love this lokk...and i absolutely adore that brush!!!! eyeshadow brush is perfect, you can use to put your eyeshadow on, to blend....it's just perfect!!!! i love it
Another lovely job, Sam! I was wondering if either you or Nic could do a 1960's version of Marilyn's makeup. It's such a lovely and toned down classic look and I have always wanted to see either of you do it. Love you two!
I think this is wonderful! Would you consider doing a video for those of us that wear glasses? I do, and I find it increasingly difficult how to do eye makeup that is both flattering and showcases through the glasses that I wear.
If you check out our full length tutorials on Pixiwoo, we do explain much more. These are the super quick vids we create for a weekly newspaper. They are bite size tutorials.
Thank you SO much for doing this look. I have been wanting a tut on this for so long! Grey eyeliner..who knew?! I'm olive skinned but I now know the basics to recreate this look. Thank you again!
I don't know the original time of the video and how much it was edited, but there are very few (like Rae Morris, and Wayne Goss) who could do such a beautiful look in a video that was under 5 minutes! Great job, as always.
This is fab, I love seeing make-up from historical eras,I'd love to see you do a eighteenth century look something a bit Marie Antoinette complete with big white wig! x
Hi Renataxa, Did they use gold tears in the Naked Strangers collection? I think the only similarity is the colour choices isn't it? I hadn't seen the Naked Strangers imagery before I filmed my Midas video as I filmed mine in March and the Illamasqua visuals were not released until May 26th, It hadn't occured to me that the two were even similar until now. But if I had based my look on one of Alex's I would have mentioned it in the video, as I have done in the past.
you guys are the only make up channel I've found where I actually learn useful techniques and just random things about make up. I didn't even realise how much I was doing wrong lol!! looking at old photos compared to now, my make up bad changed so much! all in a good way. I kill the smokey eye now haha. thanks girls love from Sydney Australia
Been watching ur videos since u started... Can't even remember now since what year.. And i never comment under videos..cant help saying that never seen red lippy look that good on anyone x
Sam, thank you for taking the time to respond. Let me just clarify that I was not at all suggesting any copies or demeritting your creativity! I would never do that, as I am a HUGE fan of your work (especially of Midas' kind of videos). My though was that since you are very fond of the brand, maybe you two could be close. In any event, you're absolutely right. The only similarity among the looks is indeed the gold/dark shades choice.[...]
I like little red dress lipstick from Avon, it's like a really bright red but if you just dab it on and then smooth it out with your finger it makes like a pretty deep pink colour :)
Hope you're feeling better now Sam :). Could you do something with the UD naked 2 palette please? I bought it ages ago because all the shades are so beautiful but I'm struggling to find a way of wearing them for daytime. Also anything with the sleek palettes is always welcome. I have Au Naturel and Sunset (after seeing your vids) and LOVE them. Much love to you and Nic xx
Contour to add shape and definition Highlight inner corners of eyes to highlight the whites of your eyes and make them pop. It's all fairly simple really, basically it's all about creating shadows and highlights to your face :)
I have just tried this one out, was fiddling with brushes in my bathroom and i had to make do with a slightly different colours, but they were essentially fairly similar and indeed, it just looks so fantastic, i keep on staring at myself in the mirror .D MM wtf, thanks, Sam x
[...]Right after I posted the question I thought that you would've mentioned her if there were any connections between the looks ;-) I guess this is one great example of collective unconsciousness involving 2 awesome artists! (just like when collections with the same inspitarion show up in a runway and designers never revealed refereneces prior to the show). Thank you for taking such good care of us and dedicating your time to teach us so many great techniques and ideas. Lotsa love, Renata
50 years ago today my hero took her life. She was incredibly beautiful and wanted nothing more than to help others. She was one of the greatest stars on earth. "I don't mind living in a man's world, as long as I can be a woman in it" - Marilyn Monroe x

Ive used this one a few times. Its great for a drugstore brand. Medium coverage and better on a dry/normal skin
Gosh!! You NEVER could look bad! You're just stunning!
Gorgeous, and it looks pretty easy. I may try this with black eyeliner.
I absolutely adore this look. It's amazing!
These are our newspaper column sponsored videos that we don't want to put on our main channel as well as some day in the life type vlogs.
A burgundy bordeaux colour is very flattering.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have been looking for a modern Marilyn look that can be wearable and not too "costumy".
I'm not big on blush because I have naturally "blushed" - red flush until my base goes on, I have to say though that this blush looked so beautiful. Vintage Marilyn maybe but very wearable and natural today. You look beautiful!!!!
I will never get tired of marilyn tutorials, you did this one great!
ohhhh god i love this lokk...and i absolutely adore that brush!!!! eyeshadow brush is perfect, you can use to put your eyeshadow on, to blend....it's just perfect!!!! i love it
I never use blush when I'm wearing a red lipstick, it's too much but it looks so good on her! She's so beautiful!
Another lovely job, Sam! I was wondering if either you or Nic could do a 1960's version of Marilyn's makeup. It's such a lovely and toned down classic look and I have always wanted to see either of you do it. Love you two!
