The DLC brought speed/tech for 2400 point, a blessing for my Timerra with Brionac and her killer lance the amount of crit and soundstorm proc is really wtfk now
For your Timerra, you should try putting Marth on her when you get him back. Mine popped off with the extra attacks from Divine Speed/Break Defenses and she can proc Sandstorm on the 8 hits of Lodestar Rush. I ran her with a Holy engraved Brave Lance and saved up all her SP to get Lunar Brace. She sat at 31 AS (Marth+Holy countered the Wt of the Lance), but if the Well lets you get more SP to also inherit speed she might be unstoppable dodge tank
Love the well so much. I feel like so many more characters are actually viable due to the new availability of SP books, on top of the ability to actually reasonably get some high sp skills. Currently running an Ike Panette combo with Vantage+ and Reprisal+ and it goes hard as fuck
0:20 her pauldron is basically cutting her head off. Really wish they double check unit outfits to stop clipping on basic poses its funny but kind of distracting
My first run I did really bad in characters builds, investments and choices. When Goldmary was recruited she pretty much changed my life for that run. She has average STR/SPD and good build so giving her some damage with emblem/refine/engrave, matching weapons to not get penalized from weight (using sword in melee mostly and not axe or spear) and she just performs.
I'm actually trying out Clanne on a run and honestly just treating him as another pupil like Anna makes him a lot more tolerable. I got him into wyvern asap and he's been very consistent.
I've been using Halberdier Goldmary for my Maddening run after she felt underpowered as a Hero on Hard mode. She's working but consistently taking advantage of Pincer Attack is proving harder than expected. May have to try your build out on my next Maddening run so she can keep her Hero outfit.
Eirika ring and Lance Power and throw Roy or Ike engrave on a Brave Lance and they don't even need the quad for most of the infantry units. Tends to be only the Wyverns and Calvary that have high enough health pools to need a quad. I decided to try Brave Lance Halb Goldmary pretty late in a run (ch 19 without using her a single time before then) and it took some effort for the first map and two paralogues to feed her kills, but after that she has enough defense to shrug off enemy phase and completely trash things. She averages 100+ dmg on quads now which is obviously completely unnecessary but hilarious
Halbs are just weak compared to the other classes that can use lances. Generals will have perfect def/str. Paladins will be able to double and have high enough stats to not get one hit and effectively kill enemies. Then there’s the hybrid classes like Hero and Wyvern, hero having the best assist skill in the game and wyvern having strong all around stats. I would never run Halberdeir. There’s really not much of a point since the S rank lance is a smash wep anyway no pincer attack & pincer is niche to setup
Halberdier is a good class for slow units. If the unit can already double reasonably well, you should probably just put them in Paladin, General, Wyvern, or Hero. Or, y'know, Warrior. Slow units, especially those who you have committed to the 0 speed grindset with, can get huge payoff from Halberdier's guaranteed doubling. Otherwise, S rank weapons are cringe, bro, and Goldmary can get them in the A rank classes anyways.

Magic units kill with magic or heal. Physical units... just go out there and kill, I guess. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this adequately. Basically, the nuances between each class (aside from weaponry and skills), what the battle formations are, how to use them, what exact growth rate percentage of each stat is considered good vs bad, etc. were more or less lost on me.
I wouldn’t have considered speedtaker pre-well, but now post well we can go crazy. Avo+10, and Spear Agility are very good cheap options for her if you are planning to invest 2000 SP on dual strike+.
Goldmary is the only unit I never used for a single map because I had too many units who already did her role. I might have to change that on another run, though.
She's pretty good, but I do feel like she got screwed on the Strength department, I changed mine into a great knight to boost her strength growth and of course her already good defenses, I also gave her a killer lance +4, with Camilla engrave, Wrath, Lunar Bracer, and Three Houses Bracelet to help increase to strength by 5 and her dex. She was critting everything on my last episode.

She's got the best defense, decent everything else. She wants both strength and speed to damage carry endgame. How you go about obtaining that is up to you, since she has a decent SP pool to do so
She's really strong for me on Lance Paladin. Get Speed+3 and Lance Agility passives and she's super tanky, and has extreme avoid especially vs male units.
I ran her once as a great knight and she was basically a second Louis with better res. It felt kind of a waste of a great base speed to be honest. Now I saw the light she will be a fine addition to my paladin collection !
I benched my Goldmary until the unit cap opened up from 12 to 14 in endgame, and she's surprisingly workable due to her existence as a hero, and after a while she genuinely caught up in bulkiness with some of my other units (nowhere near offensively viable other than proccing chain attacks unfortunately), so I'm looking forward to when I can do a run where I fit her on my initial squad!
Speedtaker + speed combo pretty much fixes every character in the game with middling speed and high str/mag which is quite a few units to me. Anna. Citrinne. Diamant. Ivy. Pandreo. Etie. Panette. Its really hard to boost str to high levels because high mt weapons are excessively heavy.
I made her a great knight. I put that passive that stops backup damage plus some res passives and paired her with Ike. Eventually I could reliably just send her into a pack of enemies to pull them and know she'd be fine. Barely took any damage
One of the units I think is best included in the conversation of Training Vest classes. General is pretty bad, but putting Goldmary in it for a while makes her get silly amounts of bulk pretty quickly. Then reclass her into imagination from there
I used Goldy's SP to get her Dual Assist+ so she could provide brave assists from several squares away. I've never really been a huge fan of dropping 2 stacks on Speedtaker when I could just give them Lyn who comes with a free one if I need it, and the Speed+ abilities are generally a better deal since they're immediate boosts on turn 1 and you can buy them in increments.
Planning on making my Goldmary a halberdier, not have her worry about her speed and be able to double enemies, should be testing this out soon and I will have to report back
You already know what I'm gonna say.. Saphir with Ike and speedtaker (and brave axe) next! Plus the same argument of the warrior outfit looking way better on her still applies!
I actually threw her on great knight, brave Lance and steel greataxe build. She takes almost no damage, she can be doubled all day when she only takes like 3 damage from most attacks. Engraved brave Lance for max damage disregarding build. She doesn't usually 1round things, can sometimes with great axe, but usually gets them below 10%hp and takes almost no damage doing it. I do have Hector dlc emblem on her, which makes her even tankier (sometimes too tanky as enemies ignore her..), may swap Erika onto her for lunar brace damage since with the emblem she really is unkillable by anything except a mage or hammer.
I wish there was a mounted version of hero, and I wish you could just pick between a characters alternate class outfits instead of the somniel outfit that you can’t even use in combat
I love Goldmary, legit proved me wrong on Armor Knights as a Great Knight Silver Greatlance murdered those annoying Wolf Knights and Swordmasters late game for me.
I personally switch her to wyvern knight and gave her tiki for improved growth rate . She is very good but her growth rate doesn’t do her justice so I understand why people playeing in maddening rank her so low . Since you don’t have that much ressources in maddening , you can’t really waste them in leveling ressources hunter unit .
I think a common trend is maddening is that units who specialize will always out perform those that perform a few roles well. For example, in ur clip she doesn't do enough dmg to kill, but also is not that tanky cuz she doesn't have pair up and ike doesn't really do anything for her cuz her great eather wouldn't kill anything.
This unit is also a late addition to the party and is underleveled. I could have had her tank 3-5 of those enemies on Ike popped, I chose to not do that to simplify the position and just rely on bonded shield in this case :)
Off topic, but you should do a hard mode playthrough where resources aren't as limited. Just to see what kind of shenanigans you can pull with units who would normally be unable to reach full potential in maddening lol. Like I can picture panette as a mage being pretty funny
Probably one of the biggest winners of Hard is Celine. It doesn't even take THAT much babying to get Celine above par in literally everything, and get a unit with basically no weaknesses. Ivy as well, more because Ivy kinda crosses over into being very tanky for what she is just by default

Hey I was looking at Goldmary and Louis' growth rates and it seems Louis is just slightly better. Their growths are the same but Louis gets 10 more HP, STR and BLD. Goldmary has 5 more Res and Def growth. Is there any particular reason to run her over Louis? Yakno, minus booba.
Louis would be stealing XP from other early-early midgame units in order to hit Goldmary's bases, she also has way better speed/res than him and can be a bruiser that can stack speed and double reasonably well which he struggles to do. This is a classic case of base stats vs investment, he requires more investment and her bases are solid.
It's kind of a bummer that beating maddening won't be as big of an accomplishment now with the well, but I really do think the game needed more ways to give out SP. Skills are just too hard to get
That is why you have a choice to use the well so you do not diminish your maddening run accomplishment. At least the choice and the way you play maddening is there.

Erika can work with pretty much any physical unit, if you take her General, she's PROBABLY your only Armored unit so can grind absurd amounts of exp and SP with Miciah for a while, Marth can work once he's back. Lief's blarg but I mean SOMEONE should probably have him. There's better ways to use Roy but if this is what you got. Lyn could work if you don't want to just get her speedtaker and move on And yeah Sigurd works on anything with a pulse
So..that well has been there since the beginning. It just wasn't functional. So "DLC Well" "Update Well" and "New Well" are all inaccurate. You CAN call it the "updated well" if you want, but Idk why you aren't just calling it "the well". This is a minor nitpick here, but you are very overcomplicating it lol.
Highest defense growth in the game. Great Knight is amazing on her. More so for not taking damage more than damaging. But I just throw the biggest damage smash weapon I have.
It's pretty wild that her def growth could be higher than Louis's. I haven't used her on my first and second (current) runs, but that has convinced me that i will definitely try her out for my next run when i go for maddening.

Why would you use a speed build on a hero though? If Goldmary takes a hit, you'd lose brave assist...
What other Emblem would you recommend for Speedtaker-Hero Goldmary if Diamant or Panette is using Ike already? Maybe Hector?
At the moment, I’m using Great Knight Goldmary with Dragonic Hex and Sigurd Emblem.
Erika can work with pretty much any physical unit, if you take her General, she's PROBABLY your only Armored unit so can grind absurd amounts of exp and SP with Miciah for a while, Marth can work once he's back.
Lief's blarg but I mean SOMEONE should probably have him. There's better ways to use Roy but if this is what you got. Lyn could work if you don't want to just get her speedtaker and move on
And yeah Sigurd works on anything with a pulse
Honestly any unit on a high damage class is good with speedtaker 😆

So..that well has been there since the beginning. It just wasn't functional. So "DLC Well" "Update Well" and "New Well" are all inaccurate. You CAN call it the "updated well" if you want, but Idk why you aren't just calling it "the well". This is a minor nitpick here, but you are very overcomplicating it lol.
You secretly got these results via DLC, didn't you? 😂
Update well, using a 500 SP/2x 100 SP books. Not that hard to achieve with the well now :)

Highest defense growth in the game. Great Knight is amazing on her. More so for not taking damage more than damaging. But I just throw the biggest damage smash weapon I have.
It's pretty wild that her def growth could be higher than Louis's. I haven't used her on my first and second (current) runs, but that has convinced me that i will definitely try her out for my next run when i go for maddening.
Her personality is D-tier.
You should cover the dlc man, you have so much great content and I get it but like dlc is reality so just cover it 🫶
