I just love these cars . That aero screen is giving a good look . More like an old jet. I hope it doesn't affect performance too much and may teams understand it better . I hope it also gets lighter .
It does, but at the same time it's another factor you have to consider as a driver. These guys are elite and I doubt they're going to get discouraged by a compound that's supposed to give you more traction. It might not work for these cars, but it makes things all the more challenging which I'd think these guys need after all this time out of their cars.

I love the full scoring tower on the left as opposed to the scrolling one at the top, but the one thing I miss is the live speed graphic. Hope TMS repaves so there's more than one lane through T1 this year.
It’s IndyCar’s rules. You have the lapped cars in the mix on restarts. I thought lapped cars had to take the wave around with 15-20 laps to go so it could be a shootout, but I guess that didn’t happen.
I don't understand why there's no Indycar Gold and no full race replay, even weeks after the event? What do you have to lose? Anyway, nice to be racing again.
The McLaren effort seems again weak, neither of the fast rookies could shine yesterday... Honda also seems more powerful than Chevy... It doesn't look good for Triple Crowns...
Umm 9th is really good for a rookie and pato isn’t really a rookie he raced a little bit last year before Red Bull picked him up for their f1 program but then they dropped him again.
obviously IndyCar was essentially forced by public opinion to follow suite from F1's Halo.. Those who can remember the the F1 design debates were between the aero screen concept vs the Halo. {side note} (given the utter genius behind F1's Chief Engineer's with folks like Adrian Newey, James Allison, James Key, etc with car designs like those of 2007, 2008 f1 seasons and today with the Barge board and all these aero flicks wing designs and they could only dream up the Halo deign) One or the other, which both concepts were not popular with drivers. F1 chose the Halo .. So what does indyCar do? decides to Use both... Just another sport, business, organization bowing to the new MOB Cancel Culture Society
Ugh these cars are now hideous, they look like they should have eye drawn on the windshield ( no Indycar should have a windshield) ala the cars movies.

That traction compound stuff TMS put down for NASCAR ruined this race.

The traction compound is fine. The repave killed this track.

They wanted to restart, but if they did the procedure to put lapped cars in the back, they would have ended the race under yellow

It's a bit early to judge that. 9th on the debut for Askew isn't bad at all, though I was expecting a bit more from O'Ward.
