I get that this would be a commitment, but it's a shame Dan won't be streaming more of this - his single player Nintendo stuff is some of my favorite of his content.

When you think about it, 'Luigi is dead' makes an awful lot of sense. Luigi's chased by bees, nearly falls off a cliff, but Mario catches him, and then suddenly we're in a strange dreamland with plug people. Luigi first appears weirdly as a ghost before showing up properly, with no explanation. Luigi keeps being (fatally?) injured from falling from great heights to try to force Mario to come to terms with how he died. Luigi is presented as a super helpful genius because he's an idealised delusion of the real Luigi. The story is all about plugging and unplugging things to represent Mario's second greatest regret, unplugging Luigi's life support. The Toads are there too, as a representation of Mario's sexual attraction to Toads and his psychosexual frustration towards them.
Right? Super disappointed, I was waiting for him to play it since it came out, tbh I would have rather he just waited and played it at a later date, but nope he’s going to play it in his off time
Being about 50% through the game myself, I feel like I enjoy watching it more than I do playing it. There are just a few things that keep sticking out to me that minorly affect my enjoyment of the game, but I feel like none of it would bother me if I had spent less time with all of the other Mario & Luigi games
@@usernametaken017 That is one thing, yes. But I also feel like Luigi has too much agency when I'm trying to jump over gaps, so he'll jump straight up instead of following Mario across the gap, which can become problematic in platforming sections, because there comes a point where his pathing just gives up and it starts pulling Mario back to him. And I'm also a little annoyed with how splitting the bros up to solve a puzzle works
every time he starts talking about what he thinks is "zoomer slang" I feel like I need to remind him that gen-z are all adults now and we don't understand any of it either
It makes sense that Mario and Luigi would be so nonchalant about being transported to an alternate dimension because that's canonically how they got to the Mushroom Kingdom from Brooklyn, New York
I like the idea that this luigi is a continuation of dream team luigi who is a bit more confident now and independent. But yeah, luigi controls super weird, the B controls for him seem like a oversight tbh
It took about 30 years, but Nintendo finally gave Luigi the ability to think for himself after years of being told what to do, just a few hours by himself and he's gained new powers
So Mario saved Luigi instead of letting him die from bees pushing him over a cliff and like the Canon Events in Spiderverse it tore reality asunder for these plug people.
Canon lore to why RT wont continue streaming this potentially. Luigi died. This was all hallucinated by mario and we really needed to take him to the hospital.
I would assume Luigi made a bet with some online community to play Fortnite when he gets 35, but he really really didn't want to, so sadly his life came to an end when he got 35.
Pretty sure the L for Luigi is because pretty universally B is "back" and it's been long enough this wants to help people new to the franchise to feel comfortable rather than cater to old control schemes.
I was excited for this until I found out he isn't continuing. I'll pass on this stream and RT Game for a while then because this game already gets a worse rep than it deserves. I can't support anyone who doesn't support it. That's just me.
I get that this would be a commitment, but it's a shame Dan won't be streaming more of this - his single player Nintendo stuff is some of my favorite of his content.
Didn’t he stream all of Persona 5 though? Kinda weird he was fine with that but draws the line at Brothership
@@TeknoThomwell, think about how long ago that was though

Last sentence really makes this essay !
I think the real meaning of this game is Mario plugging out Luigi's life support so he dies
I cannot express how excited I am for this

I love the Mario & Luigi saga. It’s a shame Dan won’t play it on stream more, but it’s good to hear he’ll finish it in his own time.
10 seconds in and already laughing at the 'luigi got PIPED!" ..... "wait, that sounded wrong" messages :P

Thank you. Very helpful.
I read it as Mario and Luigi Brotherhood.
Look, a Chain Chomp that understands human speech!
Brothership sounds weird. Sounds like they're taking bromance to a whole new level (which good for them! But like.. why?)

But they had such a good system where everything Luigi does is done with B, or at least the lead bro is A and the other is B.
Would've been nice if there was a classic button scheme, most games do that now
That seems very unlike Nintendo
The one downside for me is that the menu style looks so bland from the other ones
