Best i've seen the game running so far. Will be interesting to see it again in a month or two once it's been better optimized. I've got the feeling that copy protection software in part causes stutter and after it gets toned down after launch, the performance improves. But i don't think that's the sole reason.
Whay do you make of Hardware Unboxed going to bat for this game? They claimed that they had an extremely smooth experience with their 7800x3D and they're "disappointed," in other reviewers for not extolling how much better that processor is in this game.
I watched the video and agreed with the point that was made, everyone seems to have had a very different experience. With my i9 13900K and RTX 4090 stuttering aside the performance was in the mid 70's to 80 fps. I have also seen other people with the 7800X3D get good performance so I will take his word for it. I came to the conclusion that it is not as bad as it seems for everyone
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer interesting. I guess it just goes to show how much review channels can completely set the narrative. That's why I watch you. Some commentary, but the biggest point is that you're just experiencing the game and the viewer can judge performance for himself.
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer the point is modern APis scale to the hardware better, so a card with more vram will see more allocated vs one with less, but that doesnt mean the game needs that much, only that it will allocate more if its available.
@@gozutheDJ There is still always going to be a mimum amount of V Ram needed regardless of how much I have. 10GB cards will struggle with these settings that's for sure.
There is a bug in the game where when you launch it and raytracing is turned on, its not actually on. which explains why when you turn it off and then back on the fps drops quite a bit.
Funny I have a video turning it off then back on again, only for people to moan that it degrades performance. And the way to do it is to then restart the game. At this point I have tried every scenario and will leave it to people to make up there own minds

I just played the same area on my 13700K and I witnessed literally the same traversal/loading and shader stuttering and the exact same locations like in this video here.
u cant imagine how i suffer with my 8700k@4,8Ghz lol. cpu bottleneck from hell .....but this is the first game i really see how cpu can bottleneck a game
Because it's not. The scheduler picks the best cores for the job. In this case it's the ones with the best clock speed. This is why the 7800X 3D struggles in this game, as it does not have a choice.
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer out of curiousity have you tried forcing the game onto cache cores? AMD's scheduling solution for these dual CCD 3d cpus is pretty half assed so i would be skeptical personally.
You are skeptical because you haven't done any testing. The scheduler does a great job. This game does not care about V Cache, it cares about clock speed and IPC. That is why the 7800X 3D struggles so why would I force it to use slower cores?

it seems that area you tested suffers the most from shader compilation for some reason.....95 percent of other areas in the game works fine
It's not shader comp, it's loading stutters, they will reoccur each time you pass a certain position ingame.

also it's only using that much VRAM because you have that much available.

Low framerates is not really a problem, but this constant stuttering this game has is horrible, i tried locking to 30 fps, but it still stuttered.

i got a 4090 and a 5900x and its unplayable lol
5900x here yes it runs poorly and bottleneck my 3090

its a cpu bottleneck, so you may as well crank the settings. turn off FSR and go native res
