I feel like he had to have learned over the years, but if not that's why when you see the Making of Resistance or 2nd Law, there are plenty of moments where he needs to clarify to the conductor what he's looking for in certain parts. I can't read music either but it is to my understanding that sheet music should be able to tell you every detail, not just what note is played but how firm or gentle it sounds, how long the notes linger and all that. It is more incredible that songs like Space Dementia were written when he couldn't read music.
i wonder why Chris doesn't get any love?...Matt and Dom are made for each other, but they seem to leave Chris behind, snif... on other subject, I love how Matt TRIES to explain himself, must be hard with all that brilliance!!!
Best analogy to what he's saying that I can think of is the current move to digital downloads in music but even with all that convenience and clarity people still yearn for vinyl and stuff like that.

Feels like they take us for granted! The Resistance album was a real disappointment! The only cool thing with it was the front cover! Maaaan! I loved The Resistance album. A real experience, like a story, from the first song to the last. It mesmerises me when I listen to it. I love all of them really. Haven't gotten into the latest one so much (yet).

@@MrPriestyman They dropped out all three of them. Until uni Matthew was 100% self-taught. He first picked up guitar when Dominic invited him to the band "Gothic Plague" on Teighmouth Community College. Yes. The drummer taught Matthew guitar. Originally Matthew only played the piano
