Why would you swap crypto if you can just sell one crypto first and buy the other crypto with the money you got from selling the other one? Why would you pay transaction fees for swapping? Or am I missing something?
You can't sell crypto on a decentralized exchange. Just swap. You could send to coinbase, sell, then send back. But that only works if the coiin is in coinbase

So i'm losing 4% on the exchange + the gas + the uniswap fee + potential slippage + gas AGAIN for uniswap. What a total scam. It cost you $67 for $50 of SHIB BEFORE slippage. And if your exchange fails, you still pay the gas. What an absolute joke. No wonder this isn't mainstream.
