- Everyone has their predictions for which characters will be in Smash Ultimate's second Fighters Pass based on their love for video gaming and expertise in the game's mechanics. But... we can do one better. I'm using math to boil down the existing roster and forecast who will be coming FOR CERTAIN in the next fighters pass using that data. No opinions here, just pure irrefutible mathematics (please don't refute my mathematics).

Jordan Russell he said Rex couldn’t be included in the base game so the Mii costume is a consolation prize, which launched with the base game. No reason to believe he couldn’t be in either of the DLCs

Wouldn't mind Professor Oak being playable, if for no other reason than to show he's still got what it takes to be a trainer or Elite 4 member. There's a dummied out bossfight against him in Gen 1.

While very obviously such a literally mathematic selection of characters won't have an impact or be a reliable tell for future fighters, I've definitely enjoyed this video as a fun 'what if' scenario. Well done

If we really wanted to go full "what if" mode; we could use this data and do a branching path style of selection. Then go for each combination of data points to determine who comes up the most and/or who applies best with currents events.

Joker is published by SEGA. Atlus is only the company that developed his game, but they're owned by SEGA.
So technically speaking, Joker does not come from a new publisher, just a new developer.

Honestly I don't understand why you'd go with monokuma when hajime is *way* easier to make a moveset for, because you're more uninhibited with his moveset than with monokuma, because you'd have to have a reason that the character has that move. Which leads me to ask, what would monokuma have? He doesn't really attack at all if you're not looking at UDG, and even then the normal monokuma doesn't even have that much, meanwhile hajime is good at _everything_ so you can give him just about _anything_
Jog Swanson I’d say it’s probably because Monokuma is the mascot for the series. He’s easily the most recognizable and he has an interesting and unique design to him. They could easily give him some movesets that aren’t directly melee based, probably more range based like making poles rise from the ground (Junko’s “death” in the first game), using a bat (Leon’s execution), or throwing random knick knacks like bombs at his opponents (in reference to how many times he explodes) since he is a more defensive creature after all.
Tbh I don’t know why they would choose Hajime at all. He has an interesting talent, sure, but he’s kind of a blank slate with no real personality or defining features outside of that. It would be much harder coming up with fitting move sets for him.

Im pretty sure that was the joke, kinda mocking the lengths people go to trying to predict FP2. and also trying to support their odd choices (cough discount pinocchio cough).
Also Danganronpa, Shenmue and prince of persia specially would be interesting choices.
Though we definetely do NOT need another Pokemon and specially 2 Mario characters (one which only appears in 1 spin off out of 200+ games and has basically no relevance to the series or outside the smash fanbase).

I mean, none of these characters are _actually_ guaranteed, he just outlined the categories that he used to narrow down the characters, or rather just set up what fighters pass 2 (without any characters) looks like. And by how he laid it out, it leaves room for litterally any character at some point of it.

I could honestly see Monokuma or a Danganronpa rep making it in
- It's the series's tenth anniversary this year.
- It would be the completely out of left field surprise pick like Joker was.
- Tons of spirits and songs to choose from.
- Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Sakurai also said he's a fan of Danganronpa in the past (though Nintendo picks the characters from the sounds of things so it really would be up to them, but Sakurai could have some pull.
I still doubt it will happen, but I have hope as I'm a huge fan of the Danganronpa series and would love to see it in Smash.
i can see danganronpa getting into smash and it makes me really happy. there's limitless possibilities for what you can do. it would be cool to see a pokémontrailer-like monokuma character in the game, where you can swap between him and the other variants of him throughout the games, and junko is off to the side controlling him. i can also see the various protags getting in too. idk if spike chunsoft would want to bring back danganronpa hype, but it would be good marketing for them because i think they have a new game coming out soon.

Your mistake was that you forgot to include the most cold, heartless type of math: economics. What game series made a lot of money in Japan recently? Or, even better, Blyeth represented
We're getting another rep from Animal Crossing. It has to replace someone on the list. And if we look at the year it came out... Geno is 1999 and Animal Crossing came out in 2001 so GENO IS SAFE. xD
By that logic, we might lose Danganronpa as the 2000-2010 rep though.

As much as I want it, I highly doubt that sirfeched is gonna make it solely because he only appears in sword and not shield, with over 800 pokemon to choose from and definitely some that's in both sword and shield, I would go for another mon myself.

Should Atlus be counted as a seperate publisher or not because it is wholly owned by SEGA. I guess because most people think of Atlus as seperate from SEGA just like other SEGA owned studios like Relic, Sports Interactive and Creative Assembly.

Iir Atlus is separate from SEGA at the bottom of the title screen where the companies are, so Atlus stands individually there. Unlike say Bayonetta who's under SEGA with no other publisher
@@gamejitzu except Bayonatta 2 was published by Nintendo. Sega owns Atlas, but they leave them alone, just like Nintendo and Intelligent systems, the actually developers of Fire Emblem. You still see their names on Fire Emblem games.

Both The Prince and Ryo are some pretty interesting choices, and while I may have some bias towards Makoto Naegi as the Danganronpa rep, I can´t say I wouldn´t be excited for Monokuma in Smash, the one thing that makes me want Makoto over Monokuma in Smash is Monokuma´s lack of moveset potential, aside from executions and the Monokuma´s from Ultra Despair Girls, there´s really not much room to work with, also, Monomi doesn´t quite fit as an alt for Monokuma given how different they are.
(Makoto could actually very well replace Monokuma and fill the same purpose of representing both genders, since I had the idea that Makoto could have Komaru Naegi as an alt, aswell as Hajime Hinata and Shuichi Saihara working the same way as Hero. Having all 4 protagonist can work as an excuse to uses items and skills from all 4 games in Makoto´s moveset, things like Komaru´s Hacking Gun, Hajime´s Rebuttal Showdown skills and Shuichi´s Scrum Debate skills.)
The lack of move set is never a problem, just look at FE, in that franchise every character just does 3 things: attack, critical attack, and die.

12:52 Actually the CHARACTER is male, not the several different Lumas that she can summon. Even if you insist that this is the character, he's an apricot color anyway, while the default for Ultimate has been shown to be yellow. So I'd say the Lumas could be either.

Alright hear me out, I actually think Jibanyan might get into smash. Think about it, Yo-kai Watch 4 came out a year ago in Japan and hasn't been released in the U.S. yet, and they added Marth and Roy into melee in order to give the series more popularity because at the time it was also only being released in Japan. After there inclusion, Fire Emblem games have been getting released in other countries making the series much more popular. So they could possibly try to do the same thing with the Yo-kai Watch because the series was actually more popular than even pokemon at one point before it slowly died down in popularity.
Fighters I thought they’d put in would be:
Tails or Knuckles (echo fighter),
Waluigi
A character from Arms, most likely Twintelle
Unfortunately Knuckles is an assist trophy. :cry:

Nintendo is a business they had the underwhelming character at the end because everyone had already bought the fighters pass. The second fighters pass will start huge and probably get less hype as the releases are announced.

I think Sirfetch'd would actually make an interesting smash character archetype, being a small duck with a long range lance and shield, and assuming it would be a fast low lag character. I'm in for that. sounds hype
