  • two different types of wheels encountered.
One can be accomplished without drilling. The other might need a specialty tool in order to remove without drilling.
Nobody's probably going to care if you drill the trash can wheel, but they're flimsy to begin with so it might be advisable not to drill them if you're going to save the can and put a bunch of weight in it.
On the subject of weight, the trucks are often limited to a certain amount of weight before they won't pick them up. Some trucks are limited while others are not. I think it's like 230 lbs per can.

That's actually the wrong way. if you look closely at the wheel you'll see a space to push an awe in and push up until you here the click. Takes 2seconds and you won't damage the wheel

Just use a hammer and beat it off. This is my actual job for the county. Repair wheels and or replace cans.

Would have been easier to use the instructions on the manufacturer's website. Both wheels are made by Geoplastic, and are usually supplied randomly to all the different manufacturers of the bins themselves.

This is the first video that I have found that shows the type of wheel on my recycle bin, which I'm trying to remove. Thanks for showing me where to find the little pin/spring. Now, I have pried it in various directions, but have not gotten the wheel pin to release. I wish you had shown how to release the wheel that was not mutilated. I just need to know which way to pry the pin or spring (left, right, back,up,down), and how much prying must be done. I've spent 30 minutes trying to remove the wheel.

away from the center of the shaft. You probably aren't prying it far enough away from the center of the shaft, so the clip isn't clearing the recess that's engraved into the axle shaft. That's why I recommended bending a cheap flathead screwdriver - so that it's able to move the clip far enough from the shaft to have it actually out of the groove.

@@JustinCrediblename Thanks bunches. I ended up using a Husky precision screwdriver after first trying a paint can opener. Couldn't get anything bent in around the spring.

uhh. that's a homeowner's garage. you want it to be more organized or something? are you a woman?
gloves are from a garage sale. they're cheaper that way.
life outside of vehicle work might be a bit disorienting for you, so there's no shame in being mistaken about things. But being an dumb-ASS is a different story. It's pathetic.
