I hope he never stops choosing to visit schools as a part of his travels. I think it's amazing that he is will to perform for students for free. It is a generous and inspiring act. He came to our class earlier this week. Not only did we get over an hours worth of his time, but a bunch of us received complimentary tickets to his show this coming weekend. I feel elated to think of getting to see him perform live, again. Amazing!
Tracy, you were the 1st electrice violin player I had ever heard of or seen at a Jim Brickman concert... You BLEW MY MIND!!!! You ROCK!!! Long Live Tracy Silverman!! ;-)
I purchased Tickets for my parents to see Jim Brickman in St.Louis & in return they brought me back a signed Tracy Silverman CD from the performance and a TON of great new music by Tracy to check out!! Love it! Tracy you rock brother!!
6 people won't climb the stairway to heaven. Thank you so much for coming to Wilmington College. Even though I cried, it was amazing to meet you. You're the absolute best! (:
I attended the Jim Brickman concert last night in Fort Worth, y'all were AWESOME!! What great chemistry between the 4 of you - Jim, Anne, Luke and you!!
i live this song Ive been fallowing you in your foot steps. I always wanted to be a famous violin player it is my life long dream. Your my hero if people ask me I say "Tracy Silverman all the way Ive always wanted to be in his foot steps"
Also known in the 17th Century as a Viol - 5 or 6 strings & a fretted finger board, yes way back then! Wonderful, Beautiful sound, good music never fails to enchant. (Caitlin De Ville sometimes plays a 5 string monster that she straps across her chest.)
Hey tracy, found out about you from you attending our school today. IM a student from EHTHS, my names andrew. Just wanted to say thank you for showing me how awesome a electric violin is, it seems so awesome. You definently deserve more views and subs. Your so awesome!!!
I didn't know you had a TH-cam account! This is one of the best medleys I've heard. I was able to attend a concert featuring you @ VU in Nashvlle, TN I can still remember the vibration
Although it makes sense, you're completely wrong. Tracy is an amazing classical trained musician (studied classical violin at Juilliard School). He is a former member of the Turtle Island String Quartet, where he used to play regular acoustic violin. Also, this violin he's playing is fretted only in the lower 3 strings (I've played it myself) and up to the 3rd or 4th position. The upper 3 strings (it is a 6 strings instrument) does not have frets.
They have a stick on fret cover for violins (The Fretted Fiddler) now. Just got a set for mine from the guy that designed them in Canada. Also he isn't the first I have seen with a fretted violin. Check out Mark Wood sometime and his Viper 4-7 string violins.
I got to see him live at my school too! It was awesome! I bought his Eclectica Streaming Video Soul cd and got his autograph. i recorded his led Zep medley on my cell phone but the quality is terrible. Great show
@cocokitty55 first if anything about him he MADE that it is the worlds first 6 string electric violin. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes, and no. same number of strings, however the tuning can be something different. afaik 4 of the higher strings are in traditional violin tuning, couldn't find anything about the lowest two though.
Ah, THE ARRANGEMENT IS GOOD. Some electric Violinists have poor technique, and a limited vocabulary, and try to hide their paucity of real expression behind the effects, not this player, Tracy Silverman is the real deal. 🎻🎶🖖

If this came out 20+ years ago, it would have millions of views.
Sadly most people who listen to zeppelin nowadays wouldn't search "electric violin"
I would.
I found about you sir when my music teacher played this in music class. You are a great musician sir
it is a lovechild, indeed. the frets are only on the low strings and only 6 of them, but they help to get that crunch.
Hmmm I like the crunch. You can’t get it from a good chop?
i live this song Ive been fallowing you in your foot steps. I always wanted to be a famous violin player it is my life long dream. Your my hero if people ask me I say "Tracy Silverman all the way Ive always wanted to be in his foot steps"
That was refreshing!
