Moved from the U.K to Canada 6 months ago and been in New West for the last 4-5 months. I love it here its great, feel like the location is perfect for getting anywhere you need too.

I love your video, and I still wonder why your channel only has 1k subs :( you deserve way more attention! I'm planning to move there soon, and hopefully, I can get a part-time job to support my studies.

Awh that’s too kind of you to say! Likely because my posting schedule has been very inconsistent. I’m looking to improve that going forward :) thank you for your feedback and let me know if there’s anything I can help with!!

Thank you so much for this video!
We're looking into moving to the area and really like the vibe of New West. We have young kids and looking to live in a condo in a walkable area.
I see brow of the hill barely mentioned, why is that? Is it generally a safe area or is it that some people don't like it because it's older?
I currently live in a pretty old building so that kind of thing doesn't bother me.

@@Brevislux112 I’m glad you enjoyed the video :?
Brow the hill is a great little area, often overlooked by many because the hills are quite steep, so not particular desires by the elderly or young kids that would need strollers and etc. also it has many older rental buildings as you mentioned compared to say downtown new west. However, it is generally a safe area and quiet and still walkable to Columbia Square Plaza for your shopping needs if you don’t mind the steep hill

Good video. My experience with New Westminster is very bad. Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, North Van, Coquitlam all got their shit together. New Westminster meanwhile is just blazing.

Thank you for your honest input!
I agree with you that it is definitely not a city for everyone but it is loved by a niche group.
I’d say all the cities that you mentioned would more appeal to the masses, more than New West

I noticed price of condos in new west are a bit lower, I wonder why… is it because they are usually older units and poorer neighbourhoods than in Burnaby and Coquitlam?

Sometimes yes but I notice the general public often prefers the bigger, more established neighbourhoods in Burnaby & Coquitlam like Brentwood, Metrotown or Lougheed/Coquitlam centre because there are just way more shops and more going on like with big malls around it. However new west I feel is underrated for how walkable it is and feel like there is more growth to happen with such central location. New west, however, for a long time did have a reputation for its questionable safety and homelessness which still lingers to this day

"Sense of community" - what does it even mean for a city?... Vague words when someone is just looking for any additional 'pro' argument. Extremely hilly, not very walkable, not many places you can spent time unless you constantly get married (ridiculous amount of bridal salons)... Many buildings are old and never taken care off - some heritage preservation and revitalization work is much needed. Comparing to developing Burnaby and Coquitlam, New Westminster is dead.
