As someone who went to beauty school, you just use warm water plus soap and can wash them on your hand. Then spray with isopropyl alcohol after (but not really necessary for your own brush collection
@@shrutipandey5989 if its just for personal use you can wash with soap and warm water and squeeze the excess out. keep repeating until there is no makeup and soap suds coming out when you squeeze and rinse ☺️
You should not soak the brushes where the ferule (the metal that connects the hair to the handle) this will loosen the glue and the hairs will fall out.
Olive oil + dish soap works wonders, your brushes will be SO clean because the olive oil breaks down the makeup and then the dish soap cleans the oil and dirt and all the gunk on your brushes.
The micellar water is so unnecessary and can actually damage your brushes by eroding the glue. Never get your brush wet above the metal end where the bristles are glued.

As aesthetically pleasing as this is to watch, the brush soaking is bad. Just an FYI for others wanting to copy this. There is glue in the ferrule that holds the bristles and crimped part to the handle. After so much soaking of the brush past ferrule, will eventually lead the glue to break down and ruin your brush. I learned this the hard way with my Sigma brushes.
I had this happen to a few of my synthetic brushes, lesson learned. I was however able to fix them. Letting everything dry, I placed a small coating of gorilla glue inside the base of the brush, reattached the brush handle and laid flat for half an hour. These handles are not going ANYWHERE 😊😊 good brushes are too expensive to waste and can really last a long time.

i learned using shampoo instead of wasting micellar water works 10x better but if your skin is acne prone make sure to either use that dove soap or a bit of nonscented/no fragrance foam face wash 🙏
Although it may be done intentionally, soaking the metal part in water or rubbing the brush against it vertically will destroy the tips of the brush bristles and the bristles on the metal part will not dry and will become moldy.
I actually wash my brushes n sponge after every use. (And no they dont wear out faster. Theyre still like new. Hourglass and westman atelier brush glue are real strong😂)
I use Dawn deluted with water in soap bottle with a foaming pump for my brushes. I don't soak them. Just put foam in my palm and make up runs off when I swirl brushes in it. Then I rinse off. The process in the video is overkill.

I have found the best thing to wash makeup brushes with is laundry detergent, since it’s made for cleaning cloth fibers and brushes are also fibrous. It doesn’t strip it and it ends up being clean and soft just like cloth!
