Well, I'm here visiting the country for the first time and specifically in Yaounde, I am taking you on a tour around the city as is our custom. Cameroon was never colonized by Britain and Franch. The only country that colonised cameroon was Germany , after the world war , Germanies colonies both in Europe and Africa were siezed , so cameroon was given to both Britain and Franch . You are right. At least, the two countries Cameroon and Namibia were formally Germany's colonies in Africa at some point. Germany later lost both. Good news, they are both African countries.

More accurately Cameroon started as a German colony, possibly after the Berlin conference that balkanized Africa in 1885 like Tangayika(today after union with Zanzibar is known as Tanzania) South West Africa (today known as Namibia), and Togoland (today half of this original Togo is incorporated with Ghana). Germany lost these colonies after she was defeated in first world war that ended in 1918. These German territories were then divided between the victorious allies France and Britain. Just like Ghana part of northern part of Cameroon remained with Nigeria after 1961 plebiscite. Always concerned about getting right information so that we would inform better, it is rather not criticism as some creators might wrongly see.
Just to add that Ruanda-Urundi( today Rwanda and Burundi) was also part of German Africa that was taken over by Belgians after defeat of Germany

Nice video on Yaounde. While there, I never visited the city, but I know that it has an advantage of development, being the capital. I'll like you to take time to showcase a lot of places in Cameroon. Victorine will show you some beautiful sites, cos I've watched many of her videos. Visit Buea, the town of the Cameroon mountain with a temperate weather. I enjoyed schooling in that environment

Every region in cameroon has different climate. Every City in cameroon looks different..the Land is natural fertille produce all the fruit you can find in the World naturally the soil is really rich, naturally resource like Petrol, gas, iron, mineral, Cobalt,iron, diamond, Gold, Coffee, cotton, honey, shea Butter..we have Mount Cameroon volcano, Landscape Mountain with snow at time, desert,Safari, beaches with black, yellow, white sand, rain forest..Cameroon is call africa in miniature bcs it has all the resource you find in africa.

One thing i love about Cameroon is that!! their development is so diverse one region more than 3 big towns just in west region of Cameroon where have Dschang, Bandjoun, Bouda, Bafang, Bangaté, Foumban, Bana before talking of the regional capital citie Bafoussam 😍😍🇨🇲🇨🇲❤

Cameeoon is CULTURALLY and GEOGRAPHICALLY in BOTH West and Central Africa. So many ethnic groups in other West African countries are found in Cameroon like the Kanuris, Hausas, Igbos, Fulani etc. However, it is ECONOMICALLY in Central Africa. Cameroonians identify themselves as BOTH West and Central Africans. Cameroon is not just Central Africa.

Many countries like Angola, Sudan, Burundi, Uganda etc are geographical and culturally located between 2 regions in Africa..

I clearly stated economically it is part of CEMAC, hence the Central African reference, but from a cultural and geographic perspective, it is BOTH due to its location. Depending on who you ask in Sudan, and Angola, they shall either claim North or East African for the former, or Central or Southern African for the latter. The same goes for Cameroon. Countries like Cameroon, Angola, Sudan, Chad, Mozambique, and Mauritania are referred to as TRANSITION COUNTRIES because they CULTURALLY and GEOGRAPHICALLY identity to more than one region but ECONOMICALLY identify with only ONE region. Go back to school and learn how to read.
NB. And Uganda and Burundi are exclusively East African. Both countries are geographically, economically, and culturally East African.

Central zone of Cameroon is contiguous with Central Nigeria. Cameroon being part of Central Africa is a political decision, it lies in the transition zone between West and Central Africa.
I followed Victorine when she went to Northern Cameroon. It looked very similar to Northern Nigeria, the difference being that the people spoke French and Hausa, rather than English and Hausa and it looked cleaner.

The Tiv are also native to Cameroon. I am curious if they speak with a distinct dialect different from their Nigerian kith and kin. And in all likelihood they’ll be related to the Kwande Tiv being on the Nigerian and Cameroonian sides of the border.

Unfortunately, there is a civil war there so I won't advice you to go there. However, if you have the time, I highly recommend Foumban in the Western region or visit Northern Cameroon which is akin to Northern Nigeria

Cameroon was considered West Africa before. But because of the strong influence of ECOWAS, France 🇫🇷 technically remove Cameroon from ECOWAS to join CEMEAC so that they can easily manipulate Cameroon 🇨🇲. Had Cameroon remain in ECOWAS they might have started revolution about France

Thanks for your video, I enjoyed video very much especially the panoramic view from the Reunification Monument. I just have one suggestion to make. You should do some research on the colonial history before you throw statements out about their colonial past. The fastest and accurate source will be "google". The Portuguese were there in 1472 and even the Dutch too, but Cameroon escaped colonial rule until 1884 when treaties with tribal chiefs brought the area under German domination. During the first World War the French and the British took control of Cameroon in 1919.

Yes, Cameroon and Nigeria are neighbours. We share borders from the south to the north of Nigeria with Cameroon, it's incredible.🇨🇲🇳🇬🤝
And if Southern Cameroonians had voted in 1961 to join Nigeria it would be just another State or two. Maybe Taraba would include towns like Wum or Bamenda....
@@fanbatcher Exactly and they would had claimed their own stake based on their own comparative advantages like forests, mild climate and tourism. If they had joined Nigeria, they would taken advantage of the large Nigerian and feed Nigeria through their vast agricultural resurces especially in such crops like vegetables and potatoes similar to what Plateau does in Nigeria. The average Southern Cameroonian farmer would earn more because the demand in Nigeria for food would be higher. But lack of vision and foresight caused this mess and now they are fighting for survival against the Francophone that had vowed to assimilate them and exploit their resources.
If they had joined Nigeria, they would have two states which would be grouped with the South and lead to a more political balance in Nigeria.
Many people may not know this, but Atiku is from Ganye in Northern Cameroons, same with former Gov Michika of Adamawa and former Gov Modu Sheriff in Borno. Nobody in Nigeria talks about these people being part of the old German Kameruns. They are fully integrated as Nigerians. This would have been the situation among Southern Cameroonians. Honestly, I still dont know why they rejected Niigeria. Imagine a place like Mamfe whose economy is dependent on trade along the Cross River with Nigeria rejecting to join Nigeria! That was how bizarre it was. There are tons of people in other African countries who would wish they join Nigeria. Yet this fellow (I am discussing with) pretends he/she does not care while claiming that I am "idle" to lay the facts for him.
My thought as well. They look more Nigerians ,still people say Ghana is closer to Nigeria.

please please please.....this is a new thing.....growing up we were considered WEST AFRICA....all our history books before this century state WEST africa.....I do understand the arguement that because we use the CFA they want to call us central africa but I grew up learning cameroon history IN CAMEROON as west africa.....and if we want to go back to the BIAFRA area and what some else said about us being a german colony 1st....then it cannot be central africa.
