    Have you tried the front/rear diff ring gear and pinion from Vitavon yet? I'm about to be on my 3rd rear pinion in 5 months with my maxx. I tried buying GPM's rear pinion with the stock ring gear, but it doesn't mesh well at all and causes binding, so I took it out and replaced it with a stock sintered one. My ring gears hold up fine, both still look like new, but the rear pinon chips teeth off. Even when not using the "auto self righting" or manually trying to self right.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On these I usually seal them up immediately before sand and water can get in. If yours are already contaminated you can use some thin wall brake tubing, cut it and put it into a drill and put a vent hole in the tread and hope for the best. With the rear bulkhead, does sand still get in there with the Vitavon one? I take mine to the beach and sand gets into the pinion area where the motor and plastic cover meet. There is a tiny gap there, just enough to get sand in there. So far ive used some silicon to try and seal it and its ok, just wondering if this Vitavon completely eliminates that problem.

    I rarely miss your videos. But you should change your channel name to 'Pissing Contest RC'.
    Honestly! A Savox 1230SG has the same torque rating as your Reef's for $60 less(and two dabs of weatherstripping glue will 'waterproof' it. The 'bulkhead' is a pragmatic up-grade, but the otherwise 'low-stress' servo adaptor I'm sure can be found in a MUCH more economical 'composite/plastic'. The 'bell-crank' I've not heard of a lot of failures, and OEM is around $15(The OEM bell-crank on my Rustler has over a year's use on it). It's 'nice' that all these 'boutique' manufacturers exist, but not everyone can afford to turn their $$$ RC(s) into $$$$ RC(s).

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know what you mean but if you look at the timeline I do a little at a time, I almost never ever go all in at once as its just too expensive. I've had quite a few 1230's and the 1231's and they are good servos, but the raw500 is faster by quite a bit. the servo mount is about $10 for the traxxas one that will also bolt into an xmaxx, I'm not sure i this one will bolt in or not on that truck. I agree these things are expensive for sure but I've been into several hobbies over the years and none have been cheap.

      @@ExocagedRC I much respect your thoughtful reply. Truly; hobbies are ALL expensive, and they innately play upon our individual vanity and egos. But along with your segments on what is the newest, hottest, and trickest accessories and upgrades some segments on how to 'economically' upgrade your RC would surely benefit many. Remember; a $5000+ set of golf clubs is NOT going to enable you or me to beat the likes of Tiger Woods, Bubba Watson, or Jason Day using a $500 set of clubs. And a $130 servo isn't guaranteed to make your RC perform any better(or evoke more joy) than a $70 servo with similar performance stats.
