Fun story, there really was a female General in ancient China call Mulan, she lived around 4th century and apparently she was the Chinese General who pushed the Hun, out of Asia and west to Europe, which ultimately led the Hun became the Roman's problem (On behalf of all Asian, sorry about that) :)
A lot of Disney (Princess) movies get inspiration from a fairy tale/legend/myth/actual history & add in their own fantasy/story :)
***** There was a real Mulan before that, call Mulan Wong, later inspire by this story, they wrote a poem call Mulan Hwa, that is inferring on Mulan Wong, this was later made into a play, which later inspire Disney's Mulan

the one problem i have with this is the eyebrow colors. they're too light. a big thing on mulan's dace is that she has dark, thick eyebrows

First, this is a make up tutorial, enjoy it. If you don't care for it please go somewhere else. Second, Mulan didn't marry a prince but a General. She is NOT a princess. Did we all watch the same Disney film? Shang was and is NOT a prince therefore Mulan is NOT a princess. Also the Emperor made her a general as well. And third, Mulan is based of a ancient Chinese poem from the legend of what they believe might have been the real Mulan so she may have been a real person.

I wonder why Caucasian Disney princesses makeup never had that sarcasm on the comment board. ah yes, they never wanted to look asian.. they want to look beautiful with caucasian features doing caucasian makeup style, while when asian wants to look beautiful with asian features doing asian style of makeup, ppl will comment like it's too easy or wrong or non-challenging or something. To be considered a "Disney Princess" then Disney have to give that title to the character. This person is obviously the absolute authority on art and cultural/racial prejudices. ;) All of these lovely ladies have provided beautiful tutorials based on Disney cartoon CHARACTERS (legend or not), so using different tones of makeup in order to represent the ethnicity of a CARTOON is clearly disrespectful. Guess Mulan's Filipino singing voice is racist too...
Well, her name might not be Hua Mulan, but do you not think that maybe she actually might be REAL, I mean I am Chinese and my mother used to tell me about the story, if you think of China thousands of years ago, it would be an embrassment for a woman to win and not a man so it would be reasonable to cover it up as a poem.

If you think about the princesses who actually wear makeup, we'd have to eliminate not only Mulan's look, but also Rapunzel (well, the Tangled version), Pocahontas & Jane, since they don't wear makeup either.
Uhm, the "If Disney Princesses were real." Dude, MULAN WAS REAL, her name is Hua Mulan and she actually did not turn into a princess sadly, yet she did serve China during the Wei Dynasty for thirteen years.
Hey! Maybe you should do one more of these just for fun and do a tutorial of Mulan when she was posing as a soldier... Just mix it up a bit.

Yes she is pretty, but Mulan is not a Disney princess. She is the daughter of a rich man and married a general in the army. So technically she is not a princess more like a pseudo-princess, just have her in products to sell.

I don't understand why people always portray Mulan as a princess, considering her story is about how much she DOESN'T want to be a princess. why can't anyone just show her as the badass warrior she was?

yea she is not a princess, she's supposed to be a soldier that went to war for her dad. BUT Disney considered her to be a princess sometimes in their product. *worked in disney
No offense, but in the end this looked slightly clown-like. It was a bit shiny and colourful, but only with purple and red. Sorry! It was pretty before all the blushes, though!

Ok but... Mulan was a real woman who fought for her country. She even fought pregnant. As much as I love Disney Mulan, it really just erases the true story of the Chinese female warrior who had to hide her gender in order to become a general.
