FSU is not as much as a lateral move. Especially with guys that are 30+ years old that grew up with the brand. FSU is still a high value name brand that ranks high in viewership despite them stinking this year. I agree with Steve tho. The ceiling for them can be a natty any given year if they hit on the talent in the southeast.

As Seminole fan I feel your pain. College football just isn’t as good as it once was. There’s no loyalty, no stability, and certainly no depth. The never ending coaching carousel is only going to get worse. Players are only in it for the money. Anyway, good luck with your coaching search.
Elijah Robinson is a must hire! He would help out in recruiting, specifically in texas, and he would help with the retention of current defensive players. We would probably have to find a new DB coach because i dont see Butler sticking around if he is overlooked for the DC position
Leaving to take a lateral position at a 2-10 program, in a lesser conference, with a head coach who could get fired if they have one more bad season kind of speaks volumes. There has to be some stuff going on behind the scenes. Too many cooks in the kitchen with the mid season coaching additions where philosophies could have clashed, Rhule and White maybe disagreeing on the 3-3-5, something. These next hires will make or break Matt Rhule's tenure here at Nebraska. That's just where we are

Sucks losing your DC. BTW , FSU has sued the ACC and looking to get out . FSU and Clemson are the income generators for football in that conference. Tom Osborn and Bobby Bowden were very good friends .
He got our defense to a top 25 defense for 2 straight years then goes to 2-10 FSU that has a lot of talent and should be able to have another top 25 defense for 2 years then get HC offers..business decision imo..not to mention he probably doesn't think our defense will be as good next year with some top guys leaving such as Robinson and Polar Bear
My concern with growing within like Phil Snow is that we are seeing a snow ball effect of our top defensive players (Jemari Butler) and recruits go with him. We need someone to bring their players to our roster. Like Deion, Kurt etc. This is a make or break year for Rhule. Anything less than 6-6 puts him on the hot seat. Can't think long term anymore. You got to go make a serious splash with another coach who will bring players or bring out the brics truck in the portal. We dont have the recruits or depth on the defensive side to hire within

Nowdays coaches are mercenaries. There is no loyalty to a program. Coaches will jump ship the moment they feel a better job (in their minds) opens up.
This is the first part of the domino effect. Jamari Butler is now going into the transfer portal, and Terrence Knighton is set to follow Tony White.
Coaches move… it’s not always a bash on the team that loses the coach, there are a lot of moving parts. Sometimes people just want a change.
I’m tired of hearing that the ACC is bad. Folks wake up look at the the head to head games ACC vs SEC etc and the ACC more than holds itself.
