"In his letter Hasdai speaks of the tradition according to which the Chazars dwelt near the Seir, Serir Mountains(Edom); he refers to the narrative of Eldad ha-Dani, who thought he had discovered the Lost Ten Tribes; and inquires whether the Chazars know anything concerning "the end of miracles" (the coming of the Messiah)."
"Herod was born in southern Palestine. His father, Antipater, was an Edomite (a Semitic people, identified by some scholars as Arab, who converted to Judaism in the 2nd century bce)."
“You will find congregations of Israel spread abroad from the town of Sala at the extremity of the Maghrib, as far as Tahart at its commencement, the extremity of Africa [Ifriqiyah, Tunis], in all Africa, Egypt, the country of the Sabaeans, Arabia, Babylonia, Elam, Persia, Dedan, the country of the Girgashites which is called Jurjan, Tabaristan, as far as Daylam and the river Itil where live the Khazar peoples who became proselytes. Their king Joseph sent a letter to R.Hasdai, the Prince bar Isaac ben-Shaprut and informed him that he and all his people followed the Rabbanite faith. We have seen in Toledo some of their descendants, pupils of the wise, and they told us that the remnant of them followed the Rabbanite faith.” - Abraham ben Daud - Sefer ha-Kabbalah 1161 Jewish encyclopedia vol 4 1905 pg 3
"In southern Palestine they prospered for more than four centuries. Judas Maccabeus conquered their territory for a time(B.C. 163; "Ant." xii). They were again subdued by John Hyrcanus (c. 125 B.C.), by whom they were forced to observe Jewish rites and laws. They were then incorporated with the Jewish nation, and their country was called by the Greeks and Romans "Idumea"(Mark iii. 8; Ptolemy, "Geography", v16). With Antipeter began the Idumean dynasty that ruled over Judea till it's conquest by the Romans. Immediately before the seige of Jerusalem 20,000 Idumeans, under the leadership of John, Simeon, Phinehas, and Jacob, appeared before Jerusalem to fight in behalf of the Zealots who were besieged in the Temple(Josephus "B.J." iv 4,5). From this time the Idumeans ceased to be a separate people, though the name "Idumea" still existed the time of Jerome."
Excellent and insightful teaching. I also believe that Palestinians are originally from southern Jordan. Since 1948 --- thousands of people have died and continue to die for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6
