I cant guarantee that those take offs with the new motor and prop was successful because of the head wind, but I now stripped everything and working on the dart 250g slowly and taking my time. If you want to keep that 350g weight, use a 4s lipo and change the motor and prop to a more powerful one. Using a 4s does wonders especially for take off. Thanks for the video, what is the flight time with 2s and 3s thanks. I have build my first 3s 18650 and i still have to receive my zohd 250
Waiting to fly mine stock...
But! Bonafide Pirate (Captain Keith) was awesome enough to print hatches for me...
YAY!
awesome
How did you get on with this as your video doesn't show how you fitted the 3S.? [sorry I missed the ?]
He said he puts it in the middle of the frame (you can see the scratch tape).
My Dart 250g is one of my favorites along with my Drift. I fly it with a Kopilot and VC400 and really like combination. I'm thinking about getting another one for an inav setup for the OSD and Crossfire. Really nice wing 2s or 3s.
Hey Richard. I'd like one for just LOS flying. It would be mental on 3S with a bigger motor. Matt
Come back Matt !
Hi Matt.... how did you powered the runcam hybrid? Did you use a separate bec?
Morning, I powered it directly from the C1 power pins on the Matek F411WSE board. It has just enough of a rating to so it. Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff Im just dying to know how your controlling the runcam it as I have the same setup. F411wse running gps and rx on uarts. Soft serial 1 is reserved for the vtx transmitter tramp controls. Only one soft serial tx left but need rx too for runcam controls. How do you do the camera controls to start recording? manually? Im about to buy the caddx tarsier because it will be easier to manually control... but not for sure
Could a lipo 3s fit?
Ooo LOVE this one. I cant wait to have my 250g here from china :) Just to know in case i decide to go HD, is there any reason to go runcam hybrid instead of caddx tarsier?
Thanks Matt!!!
Howdy, apparently the Tarsier is better. Not used one so can't comment on it. But that's the general consensus. Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff ok, thanks for the answer!!
I’ve been considering switching mine to 3s as well. Got too many things to build/rebuild currently lol. Nano goblin, drift, rmrc recruit, dart 250. All Need something. Still haven’t Maiden’s my dart xl enhanced either. Ugh. I’ve only flown the 250 once but it seemed to handle wind well and I had some configuration problems that caused me to crash it on the maiden but it landed in a tree and fell all the way to the ground and didn’t really hurt anything. I had wished I listened about the lost model alarm as I searched for it for about 1.5 hours lol.
Well I burnt out my motor trying the 2 blade prop on 3S. Thanks for the advice I guess?
Can you do a video on how you set up iNav for your Li-ion? Pretty please :) I'm still debating on getting that. Right now its between that and the Phoenix 2400. Also its good to see that your flight summary screen has the same blur that mine gets at times! Nice job on the mods.
Hey Sam, iNav isn't the issue it's the ESC that needs to be programmed not to cut back at low voltages. Matt
The easy solution is to use an ESC that is made for a quad. They never have a low voltage cut off.
Can you use a 2s 7.4v 2000mah lipo battery on this one I have a lot of them?
Sure you can. If it weights around 120g, you can hit CG fairly easily.
Hiya. Great video. Would you put a small ducted fan on this for super silent?
Yup in process of doing same myself, got i think 18km up and down our field for 40 minutes last week when the weather was nice but and annoying nodding nose, am going to try 3s soon, but more importantly, what the he'll is the music you've used in the beginning, I've heard it's few times on your videos and all over the Internet and it's stuck in my head - please tell me what it's called lol
Bloken, by Maddeinc
Todd thank you, saved my sanity you have lol
Morning, ah ha the nodding. You need more air speed. That is iNAV stopping the model from stalling. Just up the pace a touch and it goes away. Matt
RagTheNutsOff thanks Matt, will give it a try next time there's no wind.
@@jibbajabba4597 mine does it too, a tiny bit more speed and it goes. Normally appears in horizon mode for me. Matt
Brilliant vid Matt but stop doing them as I'd only just finished the last upgrade lol I, today, have just finished making up some 2S packs (From your vid) for the Dart. I've got some more packs to make tomorrow so I'll do a couple of 3S. Great model mine has a T-Motors F20 II stood off by 10mm, Eachine TX805, Rush Cherry antenna, Kopilot, Runcam Phoenix 2, 2S 18650 LG3600Mah. I have been using the 2S Strix packs so haven't flown with today's packs yet. Currently my favourite model.
Tony
Hey Tony, sorry! The 250g is amazing on 2S. I just wanted the extra reach that 3S gives me. Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff No worries Matt I'll give it a go anyhow but I'll probably have to run a smaller prop as it's on the limit at the mo. I'm using the bog standard prop but I do have some funky 3 bladers I need to test. Tony
FYI I did some measuring on my T Motor F20 with the Dart prop and a 3S 1000Mah lipo. Is 274.6 Watts too much lol
nice!
Opinions on the bit smaller LiIons like the 14500/16340 for a 3S pack? Anyone tried this? Which smaller LiIons can be recommended?
Morning, I'm not sure at all on those cells I'm afraid. Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff found some 10ah rated small li-ion at nkon.nl, might give them a try. Got 2s 4000 Molicel 45ah right now in my dart with hglrc 1407 flame 3600kv motor and 4.75x4.75 apc prop. Goes very well and long too. 3s might give me the rocket i want to try next 😉
pls contact me if i could buy this with all decked up
Are you still using the two blade prop on 3s as I have heard ppl burning motor out.
I am, but I've calmed the cruise speed settings down to account for that 👍 AND I check it every tome to make sure its coming down cold
Stock GoPro Hero 9 with ooth on and stabilization
So what's the all up weight now?
Hey Maba, not sure tbh. Matt
Just built 1 but want it under 250g
@@mabadajo yea it'll need to be ultra clean to be 250g or less. Or switch to a lipo as those are way lighter.
Flip the verts to leaning outwards , or beter stil mod them to be VERTICAL .. and take the draggy waggy
wing tips off .
the tips should help with drag.
@@goku445 in what way do they " help " ?
@@SkyrisUK I'm in no way an expert but I read here and there that they help reduce tips vortex which would otherwise increase drag.
You can also see them on very efficient gliders.
@@goku445 in some cases Yes , In the case of the Dart i disagree, on forward swept wings the airflow travels inwards towards the Fuse so Tip vortecies is less of an issue, also because the way they are angled, at a " Toe out" angle.they create drag, and on such a light model they catch any crosswinds lifting the wing tip inducing that wobble . i demo this quite clearly Here. th-cam.com/video/dtiC_4zHgDQ/w-d-xo.html
@@SkyrisUK Interesting!
More to micro long range
3s flies way better for me. Just got the extra weight to cut through the wind
Hey Dylan, that's the one issue I had on 2S. On one day, it could not get through the head wind. Matt
Please stop playing music over your dialogue. I love these videos but the music honestly makes these videos almost unwatchable (for me).
