I’m a big Queen/Freddie fan and was in the rabbit hole with them for the last four years until the discovery of Dimash some six weeks ago rescued me. To me he stands on Freddie’s and MJ’s shoulders and has studied them very closely and taken some leaves out of their books. So, yes, one can find many parallels especially with Freddie. They’re both passionate entertainers and stage animals, shy offstage, both of « Asian » extraction, impressive vocalists and song writers and perfectionists - on top of their art and in control. Dimash gets the same rush from crowd participation as did the « originator ». Freddie started out as a rocker and covered four octaves (with no voice training) and over time wandered into classical, writing for and singing with one of the finest Sopranos of the 20th C. And he was the first to do that crossover. Dimash is classically trained and his ambition is to mix pop, classical and the traditional music of his beloved Kazakhstan, which has such a rich and fascinating history, musically and demographically. Frankly, Dimash stands above everybody at the moment.
Beautifully written post Makila..... after seeing Dimash live in 2019 I began to entertain the idea that he's not only the greatest vocalist alive but probably the greatest we have ever seen or at least that we know about...... his combination of natural gifts & technique (b/c of tireless work ethic) are something we've never seen before.....to experience him live is Shocking

I only really discovered him so recently I couldn't wrap my head around going to Yerevan or Antalya. Kuala Lumpur is a bit far away. There he sings with the Super Vocal Boys as a guest at The Singer competition in 2019. He himself took part in this competition in 2017. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among other countries. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time. Some information for you in case you do not know😅😉 Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you‘re so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. He is the former mentioned gentleman, a famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. This song and this performance is my absolute favourite🥰. I just found you and I'm glad I did😊..I actually have been following Dimash since he was on the Singer Competition in China in 2017! He absolutely adores MJ and Freddie (Queen)! He always has! During the Competition he did a few songs in English, one being "The Show Must Go On" and at the time Dimash only knew a few words in English. Also, that Competition is actually where he blew up overnight, he was the youngest to do the show and the only foreigner to even be asked to do it as well! Idk your channel yet, but he did make his debut on it with SOS...and he'd just turned 22. He now has sang in 15 languages and has an 8 octave range! Too be honest, this is way down at the bottom of my Dimash songs. I do think that this song demos how well Dimash can sing as part of a group without over powering the other singers. I also enjoy the audience singing along so enthusiastically. I would much rather a studio version of several of the Queen songs where he sings all the parts himself. Imagine a studio Bohemian Rhapsody! 🤩 For a more rock vibe I would recommend Durdaraz/ Almaty 2021 or his older The Singer performance 2017 of The Show must go on. Olympico also has a rock/opera kind of vibe if you have not done this one yet. 🥰

Dimash sang The Show Must Go On in "Singer" 2017 - made it his own. Please, react to it! I love his inzerpretation & performance, but at that time he did nkt speak Englush, he learned it phoneticall (of course he translsted the lyrics and understand thr meaning ), so don't focus on his pronunciation (you will see how much he improved when he sang this medley in 2019). ❤

Most people interrupt his performance start talkin about what they think and what day is not even knowing what's coming out of his mouth next, at least you watch the whole thing through without interruption thumbs up to you! Ayanga (a Mongolian singer, dancer, actor) in the silver jacket, Ju Hongchuan, (outside Dimash), and next to Ayanga is Dimash's friend Cai Chengyu. They all have phenomenal voices. Not sure if you have seen Forestella's version of Bohemian Rhapsody. I've been a fan of Queen from BEFORE they were famous, and Forestella's version is my favourite cover, as I think it is true to what Freddie had in his head. Yes. Dimash can rock, too😄. What a great performance👍. They harmonize so well together. They are all incredible singers🥰. There he sings with the Super Vocal Boys as a guest at The Singer competition in 2019. He himself took part in this competition in 2017.
The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among other countries. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you‘re so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.

a famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. This song and this performance is my absolute favourite🥰. I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I have gasping breath all the time. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so demanding and commanding😱. There he is such a Beast😳! I just found you and I'm glad I did😊..I actually have been following Dimash since he was on the Singer Competition in China in 2017! He absolutely adores MJ and Freddie (Queen)! He always has! During the Competition he did a few songs in English, one being "The Show Must Go On" and at the time Dimash only knew a few words in English. Also, that Competition is actually where he blew up overnight, he was the youngest to do the show and the only foreigner to even be asked to do it as well! Idk your channel yet, but he did make his debut on it with SOS...and he'd just turned 22. He now has sang in 15 languages and has an 8 octave range! I'll go check out your stuff before I tell you a novel about him tho😅.. Your newest sub.

Too be honest, this is way down at the bottom of my Dimash songs. I do think that this song demos how well Dimash can sing as part of a group without over powering the other singers. I also enjoy the audience singing along so enthusiastically. I would much rather a studio version of several of the Queen songs where he sings all the parts himself. Imagine a studio Bohemian Rhapsody! 🤩 For a more rock vibe I would recommend Durdaraz/ Almaty 2021 or his older The Singer performance 2017 of The Show must go on. Olympico also has a rock/opera kind of vibe if you have not done this one yet. 🥰

It's a given that Dimash would pull off any genre. Super Vocal Boys (in this incarnation) were.. Ayanga (a Mongolian singer, dancer, actor) in the silver jacket, Ju Hongchuan, (outside Dimash), and next to Ayanga is Dimash's friend Cai Chengyu. They all have phenomenal voices.
