On my '03 GTX DI, I replaced both fuel pump filters, fuel pump, pump to tank round gasket and the in-line filter. I found most of Mark's video helpful, though began to question the rivet steps. I realized there is no need to drill out bottom rivets and replace. That's an unnecessary step which serves no purpose. So I didn't.
Squeeze or pry the three black plastic legs which hold pump in canister. Once you've got the pump top loosened, you'll see a white plastic strip approx 1/2 way down inside the canister, which helps brace the fuel pump. Simply reach in with a hook type tool (I used a small pry bar cuz of the 90 degree hook) to dislodge it. Pull straight up and it easily pops out.
Next, pull hard with rocking motion on the fuel pump and it'll release from the inside bottom of canister. Now you can swap the inner/bottom filter (and replace pump if needed). Like Mark mentioned, don't lose the small fabric and steel washer which stack in the filter location hole inside bottom of canister. Both washers will stay in place when you slide pump with new mounted filter into place.
Then use a long screwdriver to poke down/position the white plastic brace for the pump. Squeeze the 3 black plastic legs to compress (the spring) pump into canister. Now replace outer bottom filter. Done.
Btw, I found that both NAPA & O'reily auto parts carried the 5/16" (inside diameter) high pressure fuel line @ $6 for one foot. So I just replaced the fuel hose between the in-line filter and top of fuel pump. 5/8" hose clamps were perfect on filter barb and 1/2" pex cinch for pump upper barb (or just use hose clamps there too). All my parts fit perfectly @ $69/amazon... www.amazon.com/dp/B07RLTBND4?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details ...Quantum Fuel Systems do not provide any instructions, so take your time, you'll get there.
    Happy wrenching.

No need to take off the bottom piece. Everything comes out the top. Just adding extra step and headaches. On re-install, make sure to tighten nuts around top evenly so the inner tubes are lined up. Air intake has a clip on top for removal.

Thanks so much for this Mark! Extremely helpful! I have the same module (but much more corroded) on a 99 GSX RFI.

If the whole thing slides out from the top, why drill out the bottom? Didn’t make sense to me at all. Other than that pretty straight forward.

Great video! Quick question. I see the fuel pump has a long pipe attached to it that then connects to the top (black) portion of the fuel pump module. It seems there is a grommet where they connect. Do you have any sources where that grommet can be obtained? Mine has a worn out grommet causing performance issues. Thanks!

Very helpful video! On mine there is a rubber washer under the stainless steel retaining washer. This wasn't shown in video. Im assuming its meant to be there. Couldn't find exploded diagram anywhere.

Thanks for posting. I needed to know how to get to outer and inner fuel filters and this video helped a lot. What did you do in regards to replacing the 2 rivets you drilled out?

Glad it was helpful. I have a riveter so it was easy to just put new ones back in. use ALUMINUM rivets not Steel. You can Get a cheap hand riveter at your local hardware store, harbor freight tools, amazon, or anywhere. Here's a link: www.amazon.com/dp/B01IE1XV5M/ref=sspa_dk_detail_5?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01IE1XV5M&pd_rd_wg=irqux&pd_rd_r=FMFPC23NKDSF108580ZP&pd_rd_w=VQLLY

I actually bought a riveter from them but I wasn't sure if I had the right sized rivets. We'll give it a shot soon.

Hey where did you find the filters? I ordered the inner filter and it looked almost identical but the hole that goes over the end of the fuel pump seems slightly offset in the opposite direction as the oem filter so it wont fit into that bottom housing piece properly

Your video was extremely helpful, thanks! Question, where did you find the fuel filter that is inside the assembly? None of the parts stores are showing it for my 2001 RXDI and I can't locate a part number.

      @@markjaquith8359"why the heck not?"
Because there is a gasket in there that is NOT sold by the manufacturer or anyone else for that matter.
When that gasket is damaged during removal you repair options are buy a new pump housing at great experience.
