That joke of Buddy's at the beginning--I will never forget the first time I heard it. My family and I were going to Hawaii for the first time (Make-A-Wish trip in '93--long story). We were flying Delta and the "entertainment" over the headphones was a repeated loop of comedy clips from the golden age, that joke was among them. Four different flights and the same loop was on all of them. I heard them so often I memorized a couple, including Johnny's bit with the robbery from the ACME School Bell Company. I found that one years ago but I only came across this one tonight. I grew up with the music and entertainment my parents and grandparents liked so this brings back so many wonderful memories.
So many undoubtedly hilarious stories that went untold died with these three men. Back when people didn't feel the need to share every minute detail of their lives. Just what went down that night at Danny's Hideaway will forever remain unknown.
