Hello doctorduo, the reason I took mbbs was for the dream of becoming M.Ch cvts surgeon. But now as ,all of them say ,better to do DM cardio rather then mch cvts, I feel somewhere unsatisfied n uncertain to decide my final goal in career. Can you pls help with respect to m.ch cvts pros and cons at a deeper level,and also about robotic surgery in this field,and worklife balance,and everything you know about it..And thank you so much for sharing, Lots of love..Wish you Best of Luck
Hii... This is all im my pov after researching about ctvs and neurosurgery
Mch ctvs 6yrs course is available AIIMS and dnb courses...
But it's not that easy cuz there's a big learning curve that takes around 6 to 8 years to learn and for practice it may take a couple of years extra
Coming to cardiology vs ctvs...yeah cardiology guys are taking up all the interventions but still ctvs can do valve replacement,triple vessel disease etc are gonna be done only by ctvs..
Cons would be like regarding the initial salary.. it will be low and it takes time for ur name to reach miles.. hv to work under a consultant for a few years to learn the things and all of that..
Thankyou so much for your reply. Do u have any idea if DNB 6yrs cvts is recognized outside india? Like in case if I want to settle in middle east or uk..and is inicet exam the way to get into M.Ch Cvts in aiims and rank needed for it? And do you know about learning robotic surgery in cvts? Like the years required to learn robotics sx and where from? And how is lifestyle n worklife balance of these ppl?..btw thankyou once again for your help ,information n reply!
Sir why not neurosurgery or ctvs or surgical gastroenterology?
As you know the ctvs generation docs are becoming old and new generation docs are coming up.. so sir why not ctvs?

There are so many urologists already in city should have opted for mch ctvs or head and neck as there are none
CTVS is very institution branch and not interested in head n neck. Uro was something I thought was best for me
