I faced a situation very similar to yours. After having my case under administrative processing for nearly 5 months. I received an email today asking me to drop-off my passport at the drop-off location. I have not gone through the drop-off process so I don't know the specifics. So I just wanted to ask you if you had to make a separate appointment for document drop-off?
Can you please explain in detail about the NIE letter. I am in the same situation and I am on unpaid leaves since 1 month and I am afraid of losing my job. Your help would be appreciated.

I was interviewed on 27-Feb-2023 and I got 221g (Yello Paper) for Administrative processing, Now after One Year its still stuck in administrative processing. My case updated two time (23-Dec-2023 & 8-Feb-2024) but still waiting and case status is REFUSED 😭😭😭😭😭

I received a 221g after my Dropbox and asked to schedule an appointment for in person interview. But when I go to appointment portal I don’t see any option to schedule a follow up appointment. Can provide details on how you booked your appointment?

@@sohailahamed3992 I wanted to know the same. On my 221g it's written just carry this letter and go to the embassy in Chennai. I'm not even sure if they will entertain you without an appointment and you can't schedule appointment from your portal as that option is not available anymore.
Any updates on this? Does one need to reschedule an appointment or is it just walk-in interview?
Hi, May I ask once they reject the Dropbox do USCIS provide the Interview appointment date or will I have to schedule it myself?
They will provide. In most cases they will ask you to come anytime

What is the national interest letter? I am in similar situation. Also you think we should call embassy every 10 days? Does it help?
Hi, national interest letter basically tells how and why your reentry to US is in the national interest of US. Calling embassy usually do not work.

Hii sir Mai m navy me job karta hoon Mera visa administrative process me daal diya hai aur passport jama kar liya hai agar hamko bahar Jana hai to ham apna passport kaise payenge aur hamko us visa bhi nhi chahiye
I got the 221g white slip with mentioned as submit new passport as the VO said ur passport is damaged... So any idea on this...she also returned i129s as well and said submit these along with new passport
Officer said visa approved and will get in 4-5 days still case status is showing refused also no indication related 221 g etc. no E-email received as of now…no idea what will happen..

Hi Inaya, your employer can give a letter to embassy saying why and how your re entry to US is in the national interest of US

Hi bro, do u think a small employer could be potential reason for 221g, I came couple of years back on H1b, changed employer recently, US based small energy company, have some emergency to travel back, scheduled dropbox for renewal, based on your experience do you see any risk..bit scared by looking at 221g trend, my employer will not allow work from India

I was given 221g when i submitted documents in drop box and asked for interview(29-sep-2022) ,they gave yellow slip requesting for some additional
Documents, recently (12-Dec-2022)the status is updated as refused only.
I didnt received any communication from uscis and what should i need to consider with this latest REFUSED status.
That means someone is working on the case. It will change again soon in the future.

Hi, my case is also refused under administrative processing , my appeared for interview on 8 feb 2021 , I followed up with them multiple time but they there is no response for 10 months , on October 31 they updated my case but it stays it’s refused under administrative processing and when I follow up with them they say they don’t require any thing from my side and they will update me but there is no progress. It’s been more than 260 days and I am losing my precious time , can you guide me how to progress from here

They gave me email address advancedprocessing@state.gov which is not right

On 26 august I was checked my application status at caec website and it said my application has been received but after 1-2 hour it showed my visa refused by us consullar. So , now it’s day 5 I have not recieved any email or phone call from us consulate. Is that mean my visa really got refused. I applied my application through dropbox

It happened with me in 2018, I got 221-g and called for interview in April, got another form in interview to email documents, submitted documents in May, got stamped visa in August.
Now, in 2022, I am in same boat again, drop-boxed in late June, got called for interview last week. Going tomorrow for interview with fingers crossed.

@@ShankKulkarni interview lasted just a min. Officer said everything looks good but we need some additional information and asked me to go to another counter where I was handed DS5535 to be filled and returned via e-mail. He said tentative duration should be 4-6 weeks for them to process. Same thing happened with my friend last year. His response took around 6 weeks.

Did my interview for h1b almost 2 weeks ago VO said your i797 petition and all things look good but we need additional processing and we will email you with additional questionnaire on my personal email mention in ds160
But until now no email and when I emailed to embassy got a reply which is a standard public response that admin processing will take up to 180 days in some cases
