This store should be at the Grand Floridian. It seems like the kind of store I can see grandparents going into. They're retired and have the money for a slice of cake that's the cost of a mortgage payment. 😂😂
@@SirAbyss They lowered some prices... but the egg sandwich is still just stupid expensive... and so is the entire place but... yea, they did lower prices... though a few things went up... 🙄
SO looking forward to yall reviewing the cake slices! it’d be cool to compare to something similar at gideon’s as well, because imo gideon’s is great quality for the price, much cheaper, similar in size, and only a bus away from the boardwalk, so it’d be interesting to have a side-by-side.
Everything I hate in a 'restaurant'. Might as well be a Planet Hollywood. Let's hope the next company that leases this space, after this fails, does better.
I dont wish anyone to fail because that means people losing their jobs but it isnt a place that intrests me. Thanks for the tour and look forward to the upcoming cake review.
You already nailed it. Lush. Fancy. It allows the ridiculously wealthy to feel like they're rubbing elbows with the commoner, sort of like Saratoga Springs.
It doesn’t. Neither do empty storefronts and attractions. As much as I hate to think it, this version of Disney has neither the interest or ability to program this area.
WDW News, is this a Cake Shop that sell's merch on the side or visa versa? With all that staff just hanging around blocking the front door access. Then inside more staff just trying not to look bored. You can see why the food prices are so high to pay for them all. Lets hope the cakes are worth eating. Cheers, Chris Perry.
@@Teacher659 I think you're underestimating the amount of wealth that goes to Disney World, especially to the deluxe resorts. Even for people who are not wealthy, many are willing to spend extra money while on vacation. People keep complaining how expensive Disney is getting, yet people keep showing up.
Well, they appear to have several staffers for every customer, so that's a plus! LOL. It all looks delicious and lovely, but it's hard to imagine they will find enough customers willing to pay those outrageous prices to make a go of it. This place probably needs to become a viral sensation for it to work, because it will mostly rely on the Boardwalk resorts for customers, and they'll need word- of-mouth to bring more people to the Boardwalk just to come here, but the place has already gone viral for its nosebleed prices, so it may be sunk before it even gets started.
The resort is no longer opening businesses, it's just testing people to see if they'll keep spending ridiculously no matter what. It's a Disney psy-ops at this point.
Why do people want this to fail? This is not even Disney owned. I cant afford this and would not step foot but there are tons of other options. Just ignore it and move on.
It epitomizes Disney’s transformation from a vacation spot a middle class family can take the whole family into a playground for the ultra wealthy. More and more places at Disney are going to outprice you in the years to come.
I don't want it to fail but I've been going to Disney World for over three decades. And stores that are mad pricey like this one typically don't last long. Rich and wealthy people go to Disney World, yes. BUT a majority of the guests that go there are not rich and wealthy, they're like you and me, living paycheck to paycheck. And guests like us truly understand how you'll needs to stretch your funds to it's utmost max when at Disney World. Why buy a slice of cake here when Disney Springs is literally down highway and you can get a high quality, delicious slice of cake from Amorettes for half the price? Yikes I absolutely loathe the way Disney handles Valrhona Chocolate cake and here goes Cake Bake shoving it into literally everything…. I had dreams of this being my imaginary cameo on the great British bake off but maybe only one cake looked appealing…. From someone with a lineage of foodies who go way too hard and do things like buy full cakes and then fly with them… it’s a true shame this isn’t the spot that I’d hoped…I thought dad was going to be a kid in a candy shop here…. going to the beach club for Christmas and I can only PRAY they rotate the menu by then..but less than 2 months from opening it’s not likely 😅
I don't understand the hate of this place. It looks great and if I didn't have to go out of my way to get to it, I would certainly grab some stuff from there. Overpriced? Maybe but everyone has different levels of disposable income. I would drop 30 for a big piece of cake just like I pay $16 to get a caramel apple when it probably takes less than $2 to make.
With how many rich folk go to Disney now... yeaaa they'll stick around a while I bet, but I might just eat my words. S'ils n'ont pas de pain, qu'ils mangent donc de la brioche!
This is a fever dream of an antique doll collector that wants to have tea with only the richest of their acquaintances
It's something only Dolores umbridge could love

It’s gorgeous. The food from the other location looks solid. Just hope they’re ready to get a bunch tables of 3 people sharing a $25 slice of cake.
Wait, that's how much a slice is? I thought that was how much the whole cake was. What a rip-off.

There will be an upcharge for that in the near future
Oh I am 100% going to eat and drink here. This looks so extravagant and indulgent and I love it.. I can't wait.
The only thing that backs up this stunning atmosphere is the food, its phenomenal, they deserve all the success.

How does this lush, fancy, rich theme fit in at the Boardwalk?
It fits with the Disney theme in general: Ridiculously overpriced.

To be fair, the cake slice is enough for 4 people.
It’s not really open yet
@@chuckm7789 I’m sorry, but there is no way to justify those prices. Everything Disney and related to it has gotten out of control.
@@fattestedtravel And probably won’t stay open for long when it does. Most people do not have that kind of Rodeo Drive money.

Missed opportunity to not make the merchandise say at Disney...
How much did Cake Bake charge to enter the front door?
Better boardwalk theming than ESPN mascot stickers in the windows
Replacing the ESPN Club with an overpriced bakery, the brain trust at Disney is sure working overtime. 🤣
I’d be embarrassed to hand out those menus with those prices!
Not a single person walking around that shop needs to have another piece of cake. Diabetes intensifies.

nope

Way too expensive even for Disney. I give it one year

This should be at the Floridian…I hope this place goes under so fast…the boardwalk is pizza and fried foods…this is just disgusting 🤮
A typical boardwalk is different than a Disney Boardwalk. You literally have a newly open overpriced corn dogs nearby.
Is one of their plushy characters really a gargoyle? That seems like a curious choice for a store this snooty and froo-froo....
