      I hear alot of Baltimore area of Md in the South Jersey accent as well. "We saw Kix at Hammerjacks den went to see da Eauws game (O's) (Orioles, but they say "Oruls"). Then wer headin downy oaushin hon!"
      Some are known to greet each other as, "Hey fucker!" Lol

    This is hilarious. I'm from outside of Trenton NJ with ancestry from south Jersey. I inherited this way of speaking.

    Growing up in Monmouth Co. NJ I never in my life heard those sounds until I watched Tin Men the movie with Danny Devito. Sounds like Baltimore to me.

    I live in S Jersey. I don't have an accent and I do NOT talk like this. I may say water and a few words differently but this is NOT how we speak!
    But i will say when I went out west EVERYONE new I was from NJ. 😆 They said I had an accent. But again my "accent" isn't close to whatever this guy is speaking! He's funny though.

    sounds kinda... central to me (if central jersey actually existed). Reminds me a bit of Danny Devito, and I'm pretty sure he was around north jersey, in Deal, and Monmouth county

    • @robertschulze9942
      @robertschulze9942 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@tomcallaghan5144 South Jersey's accent is the closest relative of the Philadelphia accent. Perhaps not the SAME, but they are awfully similar. Can't think of too many differences.

      @tomcallaghan5144 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert Schulze I’ve only heard “mondey” from one person. And my dads from philly and he called a creek a “crick” and the famous “wuder”. Him and I have argued weather it’s “humor” or, as he puts it “Umor”. I’ve detected many a difference

    • @robertschulze9942
      @robertschulze9942 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom Callaghan My experience has been different. The accents are incredibly similar, in the same sense that a Newark accent is similar to a NYC accent. Very few noticeable difference widespread throughout the population. The accents manifest themselves across the generations and socio-economic classes differently too, remember. So it would make sense that you and your dad would speak differently since he’s older. This is because accents develop over time.
