@@chicoscience502 Yeah, but why? A guy named "Reptile" should should probably be fighting and moving like one. And Scorpion should at least be using some scorpion-esque movements. Instead, who got the closest thing to a scorpion inspired kick? That zombie type warrior with the armor on? C'mon.

The Japanese ninja's expression when Ti Lung begins crane style is hilarious- you can almost see the thought bubbles: " Uh oh, I've never seen that...why are his hands in the shape of beaks?! Maybe this is just a variation on his opening- it's the same technique but he's trying to disrupt my focus...Shit, now he's bobbing up and down like a bird!"
Arguably one of the most stylistic fight scenes in Shaw Bros cinema. I heard that Crab Style was created by Grandmaster Lau Kar Leung for this movie. The exchanges in this fight scene are up there with greats of time.
As a fan of Martial Arts movies, I'd never heard of Crab Style anywhere, ever, at all. I studied Japanese Karate. Around 2014-15, I dreamed someone was doing specifically "Crab Style Karate." When my teacher came over, he said there is no such thing. We did a search, and found Kurata doing it in this movie. Teacher was surprised and said it must have been invented for the movie. Can anyone verify whether it is a legitimately taught style, whether Japanese or Chinese? Thank you. "Oss!"
If you strike the crab style position just right, that little high pitched twinkling string sound is heard in the background. You must practice to get it just right. But when you do, you'll hear it and you will feel really awesome. Like a Kung Fu Crab guy.

Reptile in MK:DA made the crab fist look WHACK!!! This looks a lot more fun. Most of the styles in MK looked ridiculous and were very inaccurate, and in Armageddon, some barely had combos.
I always wondered what if the master was with his majong buddies sitting around the table just laughing saying he dedicated 10 years of his life thinking it was a real technique when I made it on the spot while i was piss drunk
Pretty sure crabs embarassingly lose to cranes due to lesser size in their defense mechanisms and remarkably lesser intelligence which doesn't enable them to fight back. Lesser speed also, to crabs; cranes are giants that can extend one foot to the opposite continent if crabs even slightly remotely have even the slightest concept of it.
I just watched this movie on El Rey just now!!! I used to own it too on VHS years ago. Was there ever really a style called Japanese Crab Technique? I would think it could be very effective to mix it with the drunken style. Drunken crap ninjitsu.
+MaharlikaAWA really? back in the 80s as a Wing Chun student a demonstrator showed his "crab fist"...as I pertains to his style of TIGER Shaolin Gung Fu, he mentioned was dead. who knows? maybe it was running joke or something.
***** Ok maybe there was one. But I just assumed it was made u for the movie because it is so random and fantastic I cannot believe it...but who knows! Maybe there was! What did it look like?
+MaharlikaAWA well all I remember of any relevance to a crab was how he held his fists. half fold, thumbs out ( almost like a gang sign-C). all punches to the throat which them could lead to a neck grab. looked painful. ..but nowhere near as cool as this movie. ha
So now I know where Reptile's fighting style came from

its very tasty
Me too!...
CRAB TECHNIQUE WAS GOOD BUT THE CONQUERS

A true master he found a counter technique that fast
i love teh CRAB style how u used all those elbow technique to it.
Yep, M.C. Hammer probly got the run and the pants from Kurata here, and became iconic!
😂 never thought of that one
Crab style was a fighting style you could pick in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. I think they may have ripped it straight from this movie.
that crab style was surprisingly... not bad.
I guess the crab style is only good for making people laugh to death :3
Amazing CRAB style!
yeah, chinese crane style is good and japanese crab style is also good and funny to use :) I also like the way he walk sideways :)
What's Funny About The Crab Technique, Was When We Left The Movie Theater, We All Tried Using It!!! 😅😅😅
crane style looks sick and so damn fast
That's what you call "Crab Maga"

Japanese Crab technique the preferred fighting technique of Dr. Zoidberg from futurama
