Lol, the number is totally rigged, and the pacing is such that by the time you get to the country, animal, etc., you just go with the one that first pops into your head. There aren't that many countries that start with D, and half of those have 'e' as the second letter. I don't have real stats, but Elephant seems to me to be one of the first animals anyone would think of for 'e', and of 't' gemstones, only turquoise or possibly tiger-eye(since we were just thinking of animals) would be as commonly known of as topaz. Honestly, I knew something was up when he said to add the first and second digit together. That's a common way to check for divisibility by 3, and there is a lot of tricks around 3s and 9s, so I knew something was rigged right off the bat, and it ruined the rest of the trick for me. Chris, if you could find a different(and less obvious) mathematical trick to get the specific number you need, the pacing you kept was really great, and I would have totally fallen for the trick without taking the trouble to google country and gemstone names. You're in the right vein with this one, but it does need some work.

The puzzles are fucking annoying now honestly. But they pay his bills I guess so I can't blame him for that. Alot of ppl feel like we do. But way more ppl like his puzzle vids and that sucks. Wonder if he will put out a good v5 deck this year and I hope it's not like the v4's I have their not so nice to look at. Lol

This part of the trick only works with numbers 1-10. More examples: 9x10, (10-1=9 9-9=0) 90 9x4, (4-1=3 9-3=6) 36 Basically subtract 1 from your original answer to get the first digit. Then subtract the first digit from 9 in order to get the second digit. (This only works with the number 9, and only multiplied by numbers 1-10.) Another thing with the number 9, the outcome number’s digit always add up to 9 (or something 9 can create) No matter how big it is. If the digits don’t add up to 9 then the answer is wrong. Examples: 18 (2x9) 1+8=9 288 (32x9) 2+8+8=(18 in cases like this do it again.) 1+8=9 Just get a random number and multiply it by 9. Then add the end digits. It always works!

I had Dominican Republic with an Ocelot and Turquoise! And then Topaz because I wasn't sure if Turquoise was a gemstone or not. So that's like 0.5 f0r 3, which isn't bad for a random guess over the internet!

It's just math (math teacher here). If you add the digits of any number that is a multiple of 9, it will equal 9. 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, and so on. Add the individual digits in each number and it will be 9. Nine had a few cool tricks to it.

This is just out of convenience because there are fewer countries that start with this letter (only 5), and people are maybe more likely to choose "Denmark" out of these. Then he has you take the 2nd letter which he knows will probably be "E". This is a bit more of a tricky one, because there are several common animals that start with "E". Maybe because he says the word "letter" 3 or 4 times, it puts the "le" sound into your head, which makes you more likely to think "elephant". Then he repeats the words ANimal and LAst a few times, which maybe inspire the "AZ" sound in topaz.

The number 9 is unique and easy to find the multiplacation for because every single multiplication from 1 to 9 added to itself, is 9. 1, 0+9=9 | 9, 8+1=9 | 5, 4+5=9. This is why you corrected yourself, saying 1-9 and not 0-9, cause 0*9 is 0, which wouldn't work.

The rest is counting on commonness and mental priming from that, so I intentionally picked an obscure country ;)

its subtle but noticeable, pocket portal from the ellusionist... the coin doesnt actually go into the bag, they way he closes the bag leaves the coin to the front of the bag under the part that buttons on, he then tips the bag so it falls out the side into his hand then slides it along the string and into his hand. notice the hand pose for subtle coin hiding as he places his hand on the table.
His begening intro magic trick was fun, even if it is easy to figger out. See anything between 1 and 9 times 9 is a two diget number. All those two diget numbers ad up to 9. 9 - 5 =4 so it is easy to turn create any other filler up behind it.

its subtle but noticeable, pocket portal from the ellusionist... the coin doesnt actually go into the bag, they way he closes the bag leaves the coin to the front of the bag under the part that buttons on, he then tips the bag so it falls out the side into his hand then slides it along the string and into his hand. notice the hand pose for subtle coin hiding as he places his hand on the table.
Wow that snap change was crazy when he flipped it caught it and how he changed it was crazy id love to have sticky fingers like that! lol
