Lol, the number is totally rigged, and the pacing is such that by the time you get to the country, animal, etc., you just go with the one that first pops into your head.
There aren't that many countries that start with D, and half of those have 'e' as the second letter. I don't have real stats, but Elephant seems to me to be one of the first animals anyone would think of for 'e', and of 't' gemstones, only turquoise or possibly tiger-eye(since we were just thinking of animals) would be as commonly known of as topaz.
Honestly, I knew something was up when he said to add the first and second digit together. That's a common way to check for divisibility by 3, and there is a lot of tricks around 3s and 9s, so I knew something was rigged right off the bat, and it ruined the rest of the trick for me.
Chris, if you could find a different(and less obvious) mathematical trick to get the specific number you need, the pacing you kept was really great, and I would have totally fallen for the trick without taking the trouble to google country and gemstone names. You're in the right vein with this one, but it does need some work.

He inspired me to start magic and collecting cards years ago. I feel as I become more and more In Love with the hobby. He fell off of posting want he built his channel on magic. The puzzles are fucking annoying now honestly. But they pay his bills I guess so I can't blame him for that. Alot of ppl feel like we do. But way more ppl like his puzzle vids and that sucks. Wonder if he will put out a good v5 deck this year and I hope it's not like the v4's I have their not so nice to look at. Lol
I like both the videos equally however the puzzles can get boring to watch and the magic is more entertaining and cool

I figured Denmark was expected so I had an octopus in the Dominican Republic with a citrine. I did Denmark at the same time and got an eagle with an emerald. The nines trick is useful, but there are still a few too many random variables.
I love how the hanging coins and the dreadlocks ended up being Juan colas who you ended up hanging with at the magic convention and you felt his heart beat… all connected
Your videos made me interested in magic. I would do silly tricks to my toddler and he would love it. Now I feel more interested in learning more so I can still impress him as he grows smarter :D As far as your joy in magic is shared and while you enjoy doing those videos, I'm sure more people will fall in love with magic too.

It's just math (math teacher here). If you add the digits of any number that is a multiple of 9, it will equal 9. 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, and so on. Add the individual digits in each number and it will be 9. Nine had a few cool tricks to it.

@@b.lapolis Then he subtracts 5 to get the number "4" to get the letter "D". This is just out of convenience because there are fewer countries that start with this letter (only 5), and people are maybe more likely to choose "Denmark" out of these. Then he has you take the 2nd letter which he knows will probably be "E".
This is a bit more of a tricky one, because there are several common animals that start with "E". Maybe because he says the word "letter" 3 or 4 times, it puts the "le" sound into your head, which makes you more likely to think "elephant". Then he repeats the words ANimal and LAst a few times, which maybe inspire the "AZ" sound in topaz.

What is the 9 trick
@@dandlee6637 I don’t really know how to explain it, so I’ll just give examples.
9x8, (8-1=7 [7 is the first digit. ] 9-7=2 [take the 9 and subtract 7 from it, this leaves you with the second digit.]) Therefor the answer is 72. This part of the trick only works with numbers 1-10. More examples:
9x10, (10-1=9 9-9=0) 90
9x4, (4-1=3 9-3=6) 36
Basically subtract 1 from your original answer to get the first digit. Then subtract the first digit from 9 in order to get the second digit. (This only works with the number 9, and only multiplied by numbers 1-10.)
Another thing with the number 9, the outcome number’s digit always add up to 9 (or something 9 can create) No matter how big it is. If the digits don’t add up to 9 then the answer is wrong. Examples:
18 (2x9) 1+8=9
288 (32x9) 2+8+8=(18 in cases like this do it again.) 1+8=9
Just get a random number and multiply it by 9. Then add the end digits. It always works!

Its like you can always tell of any number is divisible by three by adding up their digits if that and add those until you get either a 3 6 or 9. Then is is divisible by 3, you can alos eliminate and 3's, 6's or 9's hen summing or eliminate by pairs, eg. 348351 is wliminate the 3's pair the 8 and 1 and pair the and 5 but 3972663937 is not, you have a left over 7.

Got Denmark right but missed my emu with uvarovite. I loved the beginning though because my Grandpa taught me the theory of nines when I was a little kid 40 years ago and since there wasn't internet or anything I got to amaze people with it forever as a kid.

No, you have the number 4. The number 9 is unique and easy to find the multiplacation for because every single multiplication from 1 to 9 added to itself, is 9. 1, 0+9=9 | 9, 8+1=9 | 5, 4+5=9. This is why you corrected yourself, saying 1-9 and not 0-9, cause 0*9 is 0, which wouldn't work.
Then we hade D for Denmark, E for Elephant, T for Topaz.
Or D for Djibouti J for Jaguar and R for Ruby.

Jackrabbit in Djibouti with Tourmaline. I was onto it from the multiply by 9 though, all multiples of 9 with a single digit number adds up to 9 (18, 27, 36, 72, 81 etc), subtracting 5 forces a 4 which forces a D which not many countries begin with. The rest is counting on commonness and mental priming from that, so I intentionally picked an obscure country ;)

Idk why, but whenever I do those kind of brain teasers I always pick the second option that I can think of, because the first ones that I think of are usually those specific ones to get me. But I've also noticed those numbers align you to the letter 4 which leads to D more often than not, and after that are the easier tricks because there's not many well known countries that start with D, and usually the first animal that's well known for the letter E is obviously Eagles XD. (personally I thought of Dominica, and Otters.)
I know you're probably talking to people just finding you but when I watch any of your vids from any channel I like it BEFORE I watch it lol
