- If you start working at Amazon, will you be driving the new electric amazon vans? People think tesla made these amazon vans but it was actually Rivian who was behind it. These are my first impressions of the Rivian and then I talk about the EV training, all the cool features and what I think about them. spoiler alert, they're pretty awesome!

Hey man. Rodrigues here. I'm driving for Amazon for 8 months here in Seffner, Florida, and I made the edv training today. And this video was show us as a reference to know the eletric van. Congrats, man!
Who is your DSP? I applied at the Seffner location but sadly had to decline the offer due to family issues that came up lol just wanted to see if it was the same DSP I applied for and see how you liked the company
Note on the wireless charger, it does work but it seems to be in a SUPER specific spot to connect

Amazon doesn't pay their drivers because they don't have any. Completely separate Delivery Service Providers or DSPs operate under Amazon and are the ones who hire and pay drivers and all that
It’s literally a whole loop around to avoid paying a lot. It’s a smart move but they are fucking the drivers over tbh
People steal mail from drivers, drivers steak mail in the past. Use ye head lad
1925 an hour and you can still smoke marijuana you can't find a job that's going to pay you 20 bucks an hour and you can still smoke weed my friend but yeah I do agree Us in the warehouse make more than the drivers do but we get to go home and smoke our weed FedEx UPS none of those jobs you can do that Amazon gives you decent pay and you're allowed to still live your life the way you want to

Dude you make this job seem like a such a great time. Im about to start my training for Amazon here soon. Just have to wait for my background check to go through one more time because i messed up signing in through the Amazon Flex app 😂😂😂. Thought i was supposed to use my personal email but i didnt read the message at the bottom that they sent me, to NOT USE MY PERSONAL EMAIL LMAO. Luckily my DSP said i just need to get the link sent to me again and ill be able to redo it. Happy my drug test is valid so i wont need to go in for that again, just need to wait for my background check to go through. Really looking forward to this full time position because i was working in retail for the last 6 and half years, worked at HEB in 3 different positions over the 6 years. This is definitely going to be a nice change in working since one of my biggest passions is driving, also currently doing Uber on the side rn until i get the hrs i need. If anyone has any tips for loading the cargo vans or whatever they are going to put me in first please lmk! Hoping at some point once i work with my DSP long enough that they will put me in one of the Rivians becuase they seem like a lot of fun to drive. Not too sure if we have them because i drove by my work location and didnt see any but that was after most of the vans and truck left for their routes. I know i read online that Austin does have some of the Rivians but im not too sure if my DSP got any in yet. Cant wait to start my training hopefully sometime next week once everything goes through, wish me luck!! 🙌🙌

Yes, I'm sure someone's already said it, but the EDV has cooled seats, event a vent the blows on your neck. As for the wireless charger, we have it, so it seems to vary by DSP. I wanted to do a video about the Vivian but somehow my video turned into just another delivery video lol and I'm not a good editor either.
Can’t wait to see what Flex in an Aptera will look like.

The heated seat button on the bottom right of the screen is only for the passenger jump seat.

Wireless charger does work, but you have to have a phone that actually supports wireless charging.

Isn't it annoying that these don't have side doors? Like you have to go into the back in order to get packages. Seems like that would take more time and you're going up and down stepping into the van to get the packages

I live in Texas too and I’ve only seen 2 in the past couple of months. So they’re there, just not common.
the dsp i work for is already running half of fleet on rivians im at houston tx we have like 12 EDV

@@gavcom4060 I know how far they drive I drive one everyday and have been for the past 5 months lol I’m literally sitting in one rn. The routes are the same if not a little smaller than the gas vans that can fuel up anywhere if need be.

as a rural route driver, its not gonna cut the mountainsides and rugged terrain i had to drive, good for the city and flat grounds maybe. i like it. Definitely not gonna replace all Amazon vans tho as much as i would like them to because they are awesome
that's a bummer, especially if you consider that an "off-road" capable van would benefit even more of the electric motors. Maybe they release a different version of the van in the future
Do you have the big diesel one now or one of the ford/Mercedes/dodge vans? This is coming from someone unfamiliar with amazon so I’m sorry if any of that is crazy wrong lol.
I call bs I found out about these by almost being run the fuck over and not hearing it until it was right on top of me, dude almost ran over my roommates dog in Palmer Lake Co so these do mtn rds fine
How does the Battery hold up with the AC running? In the South it gets hot and muggy.
I have to guess how much energy it uses, but if I take my home AC that's cooling down 4 rooms as reference, that would run for about 40 hours at full blast on the battery that's in that van.
I feel like someone need to put a bodycam on themselves when delivering for az cuz that van is not going to make it. And I doubt we got the equipment to charge all the vans
My area doesn't even have a DSP Amazon stuff is delivered by usps or UPS and not by Amazon itself so outside of the internet I've never seen am Amazon delivery vehicle

My area is considered by Amazon as Super Rural - and it is! No DSPs will ever be here. Flex just moved in starting in March, but we don't have a lot of drivers, as the pay and routes are all over the place [I would love to make videos showing what a Super Rural route looks like as I spend more time off road than on roads - long, twisty, mountain roads that are one lane only and not state maintained in many cases - USPS won't deliver to many of the places - either they have a PO Box or a huge array of mailboxes at the end of a rough road - but Flex, and sometimes UPS and FedEx will deliver! Customers are often shocked when they see me pull up with a 7oz Amazon envelope!

The driver side should be a sliding door. Needs 4 wheel drive and higher ground clearance. Most phones don't support wireless charging and if they do the magnet on most of the rabbits block it

@Vince's Channel The plastic is so it stays non dot. Allowing amazon to run dangerous vehicles on the road. They can blame the dsps if something goes wrong even though amazon incentivises not repairing anything.

A driver side sliding door is what would get a lot of drivers killed when stepping out and that's probably the reason they didn't include it...

A 4WD version is possible and likely - these are on the same chassis as a Rivian R1T/R1S

I just read these vans only do 150 miles per charge and takes 18hrs to recharge. How far do you guys drive daily?

He posted a picture starting with 144 and ending with 119 so 25 miles a day. It won't take that long to charge.
I drive about 50miles but because of regenative braking, it only lost about 25. I feel like I can get 3-4 days without a charge.
With mentor preventing hard acceleration, they will have no problem with running out of power. When amazon phases mentor out it could be a problem.
You normally drive less than 60 miles per route
18 hours? I guess with a charger that's low-powered enough, that would be possible. Although, if you want to throw around a high number to show how bad EVs are, the smallest possible charger on the lowest setting would take 188 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 100%. Probably even a bit longer, as the electronics in the van use some power, too. But I bet I could build a gas pump that also takes 188 hours to fill up a gas car...
On the other side, a decent fast charger could do it in half an hour. But I expect they have the usual overload limiters in the battery management system. With that, you get 10%-80% in about half an hour (that number is about the same for every EV). Charge time at home with a wallbox at its highest setting would be 7 hours. The battery in this is nearly twice as big as in a car, btw.
I wanted to apply for an Amazon DSP Delivery opening in my area but I’m not 21 yet, I turn 21 in about 2 months, should I wait until then or am I able apply a little early?
Off topic but if you are young and want a career path look into going to trade school. We have a huge shortage of electricians in this country and it's only getting worse. It takes two years and you are looking at starting salary of around 60k-70k but if you are a go getter that can be 100k-140k depending on the path you take.
