I have the Shogun and i can honestly say it feels really good. I wanted something different from the Ruby since i wasnt really feeling that one. the Shogun just needed weight at the top and it was super comfy.
Great review. I feel like you glossed over the controls aspect of the Shogun. I have the Loco and Filth, and I feel like the Shogun outshines them both in control. The Loco is definitely my control paddle for what I need to really focus on touch at the sacrifice of some power but with the Shogun I feel like every ball that comes off the face goes to where I needed to be, except for when I miss hit it which is probably 50% of the time, LOL. But I do feel like I'm able to control all of my shots better with the Shogun and it just feels great.
is the brick wall appearance because of the weave itself or is it just a cosmetic enhancement? I wonder how much of the face is Ti vs Carbon Fiber.. Good review - sorry still can't do $160....
Curious about the durability of the fibers over time. Does get your attention in the "LOOKS" catogory. Looks more "gritty" but is the "peel ply"the same as the FILTH? Great detail in your reviews.
In most ways, it is substantially better, in my optinon. The Gen 2 JP is a little more stiff and has a smaller sweetspot, while the Shogun Is less stiff by comparison and has a much better sweetspot. If you prefer a more stiff and responsive feel where you can feel more vibrations on edge shots, which some people do, that would be the benefit of the gen 2 jp
Bought one and doesn’t feel good to me. Very inconsistent hits and it sounds very odd. Everyone asks me if the paddle face separated or something. Sounds like two pieces of plywood slapping together. BnB is sending me a new one so good service. Anyone else have any issues?
Sounds like you got one with a manufacturing defect. Hope to hear those are extremely rare, hate to doubt quality control of a company, but am doubtful they were hitting many pickleballs as part of the quality control so if it’s only when hitting a ball it probably is easy to miss
Great review! B&B top noch marketing for product, packaging, promoting, and price is an 11 out of 11. Shogun sets a new standard in pickleball. Customers will appreciate the extras and attention to details. Good paddles at higher prices with hanger hooks for displaying at Dick’s Sporting Goods a thing of the past? 🤞 @pickleballmedicine do you have thoughts on control for the Shogun?

Great review. This paddle is cool.
Love my Shogun. Terrific balanced paddle.
Just pre-ordered mine! Arrive June 4th and I'm looking forward to how it will enhance my game. Thx for the great review!
Pre ordered one also but I have gotten a confirmation email yet, it says it’s estimated arrival was June 1st. Hopefully mine comes in soon

How do these compare to j2k?
I enjoyed your review. I have a Shogun and it has a different plush feel, then using my other control paddles.
I feel like its not great or bad, its just above average at everything so its pretty nice.
That’s why it’s an all court
How would you compare this to the Joola Perseus (Gen 2)

I played 3 games with it and I liked it at the net but it was not great for drives. I am surprised by all of the great reviews. It's OK but not great!
