Steady ping is terrible, causes major input delay known as button delay. Disabled it and the games much much smoother. Cant wait for hybrid vpn to work
There really isn't anything wrong. There were a couple of bugs that us beta members didn't catch and they've been ironed out. The R3 has been great for me.
The "Early adopter" mentality is ridiculous. It's just an excuse to sell half baked releases. It's a problem in gaming as well as hardware. Essentially making your customers beta testers. I miss the days of fully finished product releases.
They would have to give away thousands of routers to people literally all over the world with thousands of different setups before they could squash every possible bug. Even high-end companies like ubiquity find issues and have to fix them. It's not 1995 where you go and buy a game and that's it if it's broken you deal with it and use cheat codes.
People like you just like to complain because of your ignorance in what you're complaining about. If it wasn't for "early adopters and beta" testers, we'd receive "final product" releases that would probably get returned by most of the consumers due to issues that weren't recognized or found. That's what any honest company wants to avoid and give the best functioning product they can.
@@jasonmoore5986 So instead of jumping on the bandwagon, why don't you back up your claims. What exactly am I ignorant about? It seems as though you are pretending that thorough pre-release testing wasn't a thing. Bugs and glitches weren't as much of a problem because testing was long and thorough. The bugs and glitches that were found typically had little to no impact. The products released today have such large glaring Issues that it's highly improbable the company would have released it in that state if internal testing was performed. I've been involved in the tech industry for over 30 years. If you think the mentality of how products are released hasn't changed over that time, then you are delusional. Companies used to care about their image, but now any kind of publicity is accepted. Why waste money paying people to test your products, when your customer base will do it for free? It's always better to learn how to think, than be told what to think.
@@LowPingKing I'm well aware of how other companies handle the situation. It's an industry wide problem. That was my entire point. 30 years ago, pre-release testing was much more thorough, but now customers are expected to test and report issues. It's free labor.
@tsdbhg it seems you're ignorant of how much the industry has changed due to how much technology has changed, or you just don't want to see the change, I don't know. But the customer base is how products get refined and better, by listening to criticism from the consumer. Beta testers, from my understanding, aren't paid for their feedback. It's the acknowledgment that you'll receive a product that's not finalized and will encounter issues. Those are the reasons for those early adopters and beta testers, to become of the issues that could be there that would otherwise go unnoticed if it weren't testes in real time situations.
I don't wanna see a product from Netduma every year or 2 years. I want a proper software support on the old devices. Unless if the new product has a ground breaking new feature.
Thanks for watching.

I found the speeds are MUCH better and is less prone to issues. And now for the Samsung TV. Every time I wanted to watch certain apps I needed to disable QoS and DPI in the Netduma's congestion control tab. Now that I have both my Netduma and ISP router giving off a WIFI connection i just connect the samsung TV to my ISP routers WIFI and i don't need to turn off the Duma's QoS at all.
So it's probably best to wait a few months until everything is ironed out.. decent video guy, would of been nice to see a multiplayer match with live ping graph though.. instead of you mowing down bots haha
They've ironed out the majority of bugs already. Everything has been working great for me.

Here's some TDM with Steady Ping in the top left hand corner.
My duma has restarted 30 times
The R3? I haven't seen any reports of that happening. Report that to the forums!!
@LowPingKing Yes sir, I've updated firmware, factory reset twice.
@@blakeracerr899 how odd. Definitely ask about it forum's. Haven't seen any reports about faulty devices but it's bound to happen. Hopefully it didn't to you.
Definitely let them know!
Does this only happen when you're playing games?
I have a router, not a Netduma, that kept restarting whenever I used a specific piece of software to download files at max bandwidth.
It was an excessive traffic issue with my ISP. I throttled the download software and everything was fine after that.
As soon as I'd swapped my ISP I reset everything and it all worked without any resets.
It could be something to do with your ISP.
Steady ping is terrible, causes major input delay known as button delay. Disabled it and the games much much smoother. Cant wait for hybrid vpn to work
Haven't felt any delay when gaming. Although every setup is different.
Bro what? I can't find anyone that really breaks it down! I just ordered mine earlier today! If I new about this BS I wouldn't! Tf!
There really isn't anything wrong.
There were a couple of bugs that us beta members didn't catch and they've been ironed out. The R3 has been great for me.
@HiJgungz I doubt you'll regret your purchase. Steady Ping is freaking beast!
@@LowPingKing I hope so
The "Early adopter" mentality is ridiculous.
The R2 will get DumaOS 4 witch does have ground breaking new features like "Steady Ping"
If you want support for the XR routers go ask Netgear.
@@LowPingKinghe's not wrong, the current r2 firmware is crap man. They need to drop Duma OS 4 before end of year to help with the issues in os3
i had 30 ping in fortnite now i have 50-60ping
Steady Ping is adding a buffer so you don't have jitter while gaming. This increases your ping a bit.
Had to give this router away to my buddy. No matter what we tried, the ports would not activate. NAT was always moderate on COD.
Modern that isn't a big deal. That said I've never had any trouble getting open. Most likely forgot to turn off filtering when booting.
Filtering was turned off. Legit tried everything could never get the ports open.
DMZ and or Port Forwarding definitely works.
Moderate NAT isn't a big deal it doesn't effect gaming only strict.
