@@1jeepcam I did that once, with two steps going up to a tiny above ground pool deck, I have 'spacer' 2x4's horizontal with horizontal screws. Making the horizontal spacer board seem load bearing, but it isn't, it's a spacer for the load bearers on either end.

Great build. Fair to point out; if you’re going to put your refrigerator inside that “closet”, stick with whirlpool or Kitchenaid. The condenser coil runs underneath, versus all the way in the back (where it can suffocate)

Put rock around the base of the fence and they won't dig at it. Dogs don't like rock in their feet. Pea gravel to Quail Egg size. Make the rock strip 15 to 18 inches wide from the inside of the fence into the dog pin.
Not to argue but I’ve had Huskies for 45 years and I can promise you that they will absolutely dig through rocks.

I have watched this work in my life and in others with dogs from Jack Russell to Great Dane. But if a dog truly wanted out they made a way.
The best way is to give the dogs every reason to stay. Not with control. Rather, finding what the dog wanted to stay. One dog just wanted the fence gone, he never left, ran off. He just wanted freedom.

I met someone that had a legit wolf. That fella was massive, they had an entire pen that was cattle panels and angle iron welded all the way from the concrete slab to the top (roof) because he was good at climbing. He also had a yard to run but that was for supervised play. Stay safe and cute wolf pup!

Nice! We had a half wolf - half german shepherd when my brother and I were kids! His name was Wolfie (of course!). He was the sweetest dog!

Wolfe dogs are now illegal in my state. I think it is a good idea. My nephew had one when it was legal, but it did not turn out well.

When I was a kid, my family had a wolf malamute, she was 100 pounds and pure white. She was also very intelligent, totally friendly, and when my two older brothers would bully me, she would step in and protect me. She was probably the reason why I made it to my teen years and beyond.
Glad your Dad is doing really well and back to working on your absolutely beautiful house. All the different wood types look incredible. A new puppy is like a new kid at night. The puppy will grow up faster though. Corgi’s are tough little dogs that were originally bred for sheep herding. Merle is likely to remain the alpha dog no matter how big Josi gets.

614th comment here so i doubt you see this, but if you do i have some tips on the new pup. i had a wolf/malamute dog years ago, they are escape artist. at 8-10 weeks old her and her sister were both climbing over a 4 ft. tall "non-climbable" sheep fence, so we found some 5 ft fencing and they also climbed over that, we even tried to bend the top foot over at a 45 deg angle so they would be upside-down at the top and that still didn't work. years later she started to dig her way out, in just one day while i was at work she dug a hole under the garage that was big enough for me to get into by crawling on my hands and knees without my head and back hitting, and the end of the tunnel was big enough for me and my roommate to both sit fully upright in. i filled in the hole and put some big rocks on top to keep her from digging it out again. the next day when i got home from work she had dug under the 1 ft deep concrete footing for the fence and was halfway across the alley. i am glad/lucky it was a dead-end alley, and it was not trash day. i live in Montana and the ground she was digging in was old riverbed full of rocks from a few inches up to 10 inches round. how she could move so much material so fast is something i wish i had been home to see. so my advice is to put some heavy fence wire lying flat a foot or two under the dirt connected to the fence and at least 3 feet back into the dog yard. oh, and don't leave her in the house alone, or your furnisher and anything else soft enough for those teeth will be eaten in just a few hours. they are very pack oriented and get nervous when alone and take it out on everything. she will need tons of exercise and attention to keep from being bord.
i don't know how much you know about wolves in the wild, but i always found it interesting to see how much my dog had in common with her cousins. if someone strange came over, she would go to the other side of the yard or hide behind me, when she was young, she was clearly the subordinate and would greet other dogs (no matter what size) by crawling up to them, rolling over and peeing on herself. as she got older, she became the Alpha female and she was just fine around male dogs, but any females that came around she would put them on their backs and pin them down until she thought they had properly submitted to her. the more i learned about wolves, the more i understood her behavior. i hope you have a wonderful time with her, they like most dogs are your best friends, on good and bad days they always make you feel better.

Josie is adorable! I had a wolf dog many years ago. Boy was he a handful of daily action! Chickens had to beware, other big dogs were no match, and everybody else was in awe of that beautiful canine! Love your videos, keep them coming!

You could pour a concrete pad in front of the bottom step to connect the wooden stairs to the concrete slab, and then put their paw prints in that.

Hi Hannah. I recommend getting soft-close hinges for all your cabinets. Our fire department recently built a new station and the kitchen has all soft-close hinges. I like them so much that I've started converting my kitchen at home to them.
If your adorable wolf-hybrid is climbing your fence, tension wire with PVC pipe run the length of the top of the fence, with a couple inches of clearance can stop them from climbing over the top.
My mid-content grey wolf-hybrid (bio pic) has jumped 8' fences. He's a good boy.

My father rebuilt the Red Bridge and the Zig Zag in the Memphis Botanical Gardens, and refinished the interior of the Old Train Station at Disney world and I’ve seen some astonishing wood work in my time. I can say you’re doing a nice Nice job. My father now lives in Southern Tennessee not too far from you really. Incidentally my father used to also work with another top notch master craftsmen carpenter named Charlie Mix. Charlie Mix was a good friend and he passed away a few years back, but he was the grandson of the silent movie star Tom Mix who you hear mentioned in the movie “Tombstone” right at the end because Tom Mix attended Wyatt Earp’s funeral and wept.
