- It was my great honour to participate in the Pakistan Tourism Symposium 2024 in the Panel Discussion- Session: Perception Building of Pakistan as a Tourist Destination: Role of
Print, Electronic, Digital Media and partner organizations.
The 1st time I spoke in Pakistan since 2021, just after my first 2-week trip to Balochistan ... and I was VERY nervous!! This time I was able to share the branding and social media work I am doing with Balochistan and it was amazing!!!
If you want to hear my bits, here they are:
09:20 Question 1 for Angela
28:09 Follow up opinion to a question from another delegate
46:34 Question about privileged access in Balochistan
Be sure to WATCH:
58:00 Keynote by renowned Italian mountain climber Simone Moro / iamsimonemoro
I was nervous again, but this year I'm happy to be part of a panel that included a keynote address from renowned Italian mountain climber Simone Moro / iamsimonemoro (shared at the end). Then, a group of us who work promoting Pakistan every day will discuss the challenges of building up Pakistan's image and brand around the world:

Thank you Angela. It is always a pleasure to watch your content. Respect to your mission. May your tribe grow!
Thank you so much! That is very kind.
It was really great to be part of this symposium. Thank you Angela for your insights. I was one of the tour operators.
Thank you! It really was a wonderful event, PTDC did a great job. I hope the changes everyone suggested can be implemented soon.
@@AngelaCarson The missing part was the Government implementors. Highway authorities, roads maintenance team, Govt Aviation department, Interior Ministry and MOFA. I do not know why were these departments not invited? I asked in the 2nd session and i was answered that we couldn't invite them as it wasn't in the agenda.
What a wonderful experience. I'm quite sure you were delighted to be invited as one of the distinguished guest speakers.
It was such a gift, I was very lucky to be on the panel that I was ... and with the 2 friends I was with that day, for lunch we sat the same table as Pakistan's first climbers (decades back) to K2 and Everest. It was an all-around fun day :-)
@@AngelaCarson Wow, what a wonderful new circle of contact. 😀
@@Yasin_Affandi fingers crossed, I would love to socialise with them, they must have the best stories EVER!!
@@AngelaCarson Yes, get involved on common grounds with some activities engaged by those people and widen your luxurious tourism networking in Balochistan. 😀
great session
It was such a kindness from PTDC to let me be on that panel, it was defitnitely my honour to be there....
The last guy was right, make the visa process as quick and painless as possible. I plan to visit Pakistan in a couple of year, I hope things get better. Consider the southern part of Pakistan on my map too.
yeah he was the keynote speaker, super direct guy and to the point. Very good summary of pains of visa and NOCs.
👍👍👍👍👍😊
Tourism policy/plan are not very clear at the moment. I wish PTDC can get freehand to promote tourism in Pakistan. You shared your experince well and I hope government will listen to all the suggestions from participants.
The keynote speaker really shared his thoughts on visas with conviction and clarity. At the end of the event, PTDC's Aftab Rana shared his 4 key takeaways. I only remember 3 sadly but they were:
1. Tourism is independent and is given back a federal Minister role so that department can exist regardless of administration
2. Visa on arrival should be opened to "friendly" countries
3. NOCs to Punjab and the North should be ended (not happening in Balochistan as quickly sadly)
