Another stunning performance from Coke Studio Pakistan arrived to the channel. This time it was a fusion of the hit song "Sayonee" by the band Junoon, glittering and polished by Coke Studio and the legendary singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Of course these are the big names, we we should not forget about the awesome crew of instrumentalists who created another masterpiece for our ears. In terms of lyrics the track was about a journey to find inner peace, concluding that Allah himself is guiding through the storm to find yourself.

I don't really get why this version gets the hate. I've heard the original version, and this too, as far as I can say, both are great songs if you don't compare them. Ali Azmat's voice was missing and this version definitely lacked that touch, but Coke Studio tried really hard to get the band together, and for some reason they couldn't. Let's appreciate this song as well, great reaction man ❤️

Legend has it that Ali Azmat was invited but due to his bipolar attitude and supposed fued with Salman Ahmed, he backed out. I am glad he backed out. This version is entirely too multi-dimensional, rich and complex for a simple singer like Ali Azmat.

It’s called jugalbandi meaning it looks like the instruments are having a conversation.
Without any doubt the one sung by Ali Azmat was the one which had the original band and definitely when that was sung it was far ahead of it's time back then. The only member of junoon band present here was Dr. Salman who was the one playing electric guitar, he's known to be the best guitar 🎸 player in Pakistan.

Coke studio merged two songs into the one. Both the songs were master pieces at that time. Still they are superb. This track is like nostalgic for me as I used to listen in my childhood. Thanks for reacting . You must listen to the original songs too.

The original song is really great and unique, Ali Azmat is an amazing artist. But this coke studio version is really close to my heart. That instrumental part is phenomenal, and the combination of Ali Noor and RFAK's voices is not something that you would normally think of yet they harmonized so so well. The song feels like a beautiful journey into the depths of the soul.

I recommend to you next : ISHQ DI BOOTI and SAWAAL KANDE UTHE. Both are masterpieces from the older seasons of Coke Studio.

Its a beautiful sung song originally by Ali Azmat, one of the best in Pakistan.. very compassionate and strong vocalist of all times. This coke studio presentation and RFAK together has also did a great job. Beautiful and very well done. Hats off to Coke studio. Marvellous.

To fully understand the reference at 7:20 about the camel you should react to another Coke Studio song from Season 4 called "Ni Oothan waale"; it's a beautiful retelling of a famous love story. It has that classic early-CS trance vibe with a legendary folk singer.
The love story is called Sassi Punnun; basically Punnun was a prince who fell in love with the peasant girl Sassi. His brothers plotted to separate them and on their wedding night they got Punnun drunk and then carried him back across the desert to their kingdom on a camel. Sassi realized that they had taken him and tried to follow on foot, but she got lost and died in the desert before Punnun could come back and find her. Thats why the line in this song goes, "Who will turn the camel around? My lover is long gone."
The guy you keep seeing in a cap is Salman ,one of the original singers of Junoon and you can actually see his exxcitement and pleasure on his face.
For me the biggest takeaway from this coke studio version is the instrumental part; esp the last bit! That is why I have a great respect for this version as well as the original one.

You should react to original, also you should react to the concert version of Sayonee (the reunion of Junoon a few years ago) Ali Azmat sang it again and again stole the show.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a legend but no one can sing Sayonee better than Ali Azmat, even Indian singer Arijit Singh tried but his version also rejected by the original Sayonee lovers.

And ending of this Sayonee was awesome but this Sayonee is mixture of two songs 1 Sayonee and number 2 Sain Tu Hi (the ending part)

Junoon lead vocalist was ali azmat. Salman was musician/guitarist who is present in this song (thats why title claim junoon) but he cant sing. So the sound of junoon is missing in this version.
